I don't know what to do. Our puppy is 9 weeks old and he is perfectly fine at night, and he will go to bed without any incident. However, when we're home and out in the living room and we put him in there, he starts to pant, drool and whine.
When I put him in there, I put a treat in for him to eat. Once he's done with his treat, he will start going crazy with the panting, drooling and whining. We completely ignore him when he's in that state. When he's quiet I will give him a treat and reward him, but we don't know what to do.
He will never go in there and lay down in his crate, he much prefers to lie underneath our table or next to our couch when he's out of the crate. We also keep the crate next to our couch in the living room where we're at.
We also feed him every meal in there, and he goes in without incident again for his feeding.
Any ideas?
