Hi all - With hunting season in Montana winding down, I 've come to conclusion that it is finally time for me to get a solid field Golden to join me in future seasons rather than to have to rely on my friends and their dogs.

I've read a few of the posts regarding breeders and find them very informative, but was curious if anyone had any recommendations of reputable breeders that provide solid field pedigree golden retrievers in the Pacific Northwest. Any direction would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Look at Heads Up Kennels in BC. They have beautiful dogs. They are associated with Janet (?) Gunn, TNT Kennels in the same area. There is a female in our area from them, named "Zinga" (on their website) she is a really nice dog.

They were on my list if my Hootie puppy didn't pan out. Another breeder with nice dogs but not in your area you mentioned are the Miners.

Barb Loree is very nice, she's got some nice dogs. We train with her now and then and she's been quite helpful. When she's in Alberta she's in the Calgary area, so that's not far....

I second Zaniri. They produce wonderful dogs, including most of the SAR dogs in BC. There are two in my neighbourhood, the best Goldens around by far. One is a SAR in training, the other just a regular pet. We inquired about getting a pup from them but she noted that we'd be better off with a show line golden since we wanted to do therapy work. They breed rarely though. Good luck!
