Flatulence and Diarrhea from Royal Canin Golden Retriever

I hope I don't sound like an irresponsible owner, but I recently switched my dog's food to Royal Canine adult GR without slowly swapping it with a mix of his old food. The reason behind this is because he never had any problems switching food (he's 3 years old now) So my issue is, ever since I switched his food to RC, he has a lot of flatulence and diarrhea (light brown color) It's been 2 days now, and his stool was slightly firm, but still difficult to pick up. Do I need to take him off Royal Canine? or can I ease it into his diet? More so he loves this food, he keeps asking for more.

on another note. When he was on Purina Pro Focus, he never seemed to like the food but ate it anyways. I noticed however he would only poop once a day and it was smaller than usual.

Not sure what to do here.

You're over feeding. Back the food down 10 or 15% and the gas should go away in a day or 2. To much volume causes the gas and loose stools. I've seen some dogs need to be fed 3x a day (the same amount) instead of 2x. If you are at the point of feeding less than 75% of what is recommended on the bag, go back up some and go to 3x a day should clear that up.
