We have been using a prong collar for Sienna for a while. She still pulls, doesn't seem to get it it. She is a champion puller.
The big issue I have is when I go to the bus stop or she sees people who even look at her sideways- she dissolves into wiggles and hops, begging to be petted. Even with the prong collar I've had to hold on tight for fear of being pulled over, or even worse have her jumping up on the kids. The prong collar has worked wonders in help me to control her.
Over the last few days I have taken the prong collar off to find it's pinched a fold of skin at her neck!!:bawling: She has some tiny scabbies.
I went to the market and bought a 22 inch and a 24 inch choke chain version. Her neck measures about 20 inches- I am unsure of which one to use. The 24 inches would seem like it has too much "gap" but it is made of a stronger chain.
When she was a puppy we tried the gentle leader? which went over her nose- it rubbed the fur off as she still pulled.
