We switched Nala from Frontline to Nexgard this past summer because she was swimming alot and thought it would be easier to not have to work around swimming and the topical. After about 2 months she lost interest in her kibble and would occasionally vomit up a little, mainly just like a burp where food came out, not actual vomiting. We attributed it to lack of interest in her food and tried some different protein kibble, but nothing changed. Finally just gave up thinking it was just the summer heat. She did lose some weight, but also thought that was the heat.
In September we switched back to Frontline since she wasnt swimming as much, and within a few weeks her appetite was full force golden again, eating with gusto and no more burping up food.
I did do some research and found that lack of appetite is one of the side effects listed for Nexgard and found other dog owners in the german shephard forum who had the same issue. Not 100% sure it was the Nexgard, but I think we will be sticking with the Frontline for now just in case.
