Submitting multiple applications to breeders?

Hello me and my family are looking for a pup and have begun looking into different breeders around our area. So far I’ve gotten about 5 emails back from breeders telling me to fill out an application to be waitlisted. But it seems to be rude to be on multiple wait lists. Woudnt it make sense to submit multiple applications because they may be denied anyways? But if they’re approved will I be automatically placed on the waitlist? Thanks!

It's ok to be looking at more than one, but choose one or two that you really like their dogs and their methods, fill out the application, and then communicate with them further. Once you are confirmed on a list for one, make sure you let the other one know you are on the list for a puppy from a different breeder.

You should have more communication with the breeder than just the application, so you will know if you are approved or not.

Kate remember this is a process... your goal is to find a good breeder, not a puppy. The best bet for a healthy puppy is a reputable breeder that does all the necessary GRCA Coe health test and that they are posted to OFA for verification.
If you're just looking for a puppy and want it now, check with the kill shelters and rescues in your area. They have puppies too.

I don't mind people being on multiple lists, so long as they tell me about it and keep me informed if they are getting a pup from someone else.

Honesty is the best policy. Remember that it's a small community, and breeders all know each other and talk to each other. If you're trying to keep it secret that you're on multiple lists, you're probably going to get caught. And then your reputation will be harmed among many breeders. Just be up front. That's all any of us ask.
