It is very common in yorkies since all mine do it.

 

Jackson did this a lot when he was younger. He seems to have grown out of it, although he still does it every once in a while. Scared me to death before I knew what it was!

 

It is most common in smaller breeds with short noses. My Tessie does it a lot when she's excited. It's kind of cute, one you realize what it is and that your dog is not gasping for air!

 

All of my dogs have done it at one time or another but my bridge dog, Buddy, used to get into terrible fits with them and they wouldn't stop. I used to rub his tummy until they stopped.
The vet wasn't worried about it at all.

 

Her eyes look so tired in that video. I hope it's nothing serious.

 

My second pup, Addy, had a few episodes of that. She did it after being out at my mom and dad's farm walking around in the fields in the tall grass (timothy grass).

That's a good idea to take her to the vet though. Please let us know what they say.

I also want to add your dog has the sweetest face.

 

If the reverse sneezing persists, consider nasal mites. Revolution is the treatment.

Thanks! Got her in for a look over and allergies it is! Yea, the look in her eyes freaked me out too...but 15 munutes later she was back to herself. Now I know about a reverse sneeze.

HI Delora,
I mentioned something similar to my vet and he told me to gently rub
under Wilsons neck or to gently blow in their nose and that will stop
the episode. I think it's because they get a hair in their nose or
some dust. Nothing to worry about. It happens to Wilson every now
and then.

I pushed submit too soon She is my angel. I was told I couldn't have children (tried for 8 years and now have 2 boys) so she is my baby before babies. She is 11, has hip dyslpasia and started having seizures last year but with potassium bromide, she has not had one in a year. She is slow at getting up and down but still squashes, loves her ball (since throwing and running is out, i roll it to her when she is laying down and she rolls it back with her tongue), full of life, and just happy. Firm believer that goldens are good examples of how humans should live their life! Little hiccups now and then, but keep on wagging and smiling! Love goldens!!!! This is her this morning when I asked her if she likes squirrels.
