This morning Bella (7 months old) and I went out in the backyard. She was enjoying the beautiful weather and I went in for a little while (5 -10 minutes) When I went back out to check on her she was chewing on Croton leaves. I'm not sure how much she ingested, if anything. I should have known better than to trust her out there. She eats EVERYTHING!!! Rocks, snails, grass, sticks - you name it. Luckily everything passes and she doesn't ever get sick from it.

She acting like her normal self, playing, running etc. About 5 hours later she vomitted a tiny amount which came up grass. Still acting normal, besides that. Then I noticed she started drooling alot. It was dripping out of her mouth like you see a St. Bernard drool. Again, still acting fine. I called the vet and they wanted me to bring her in. The made her vomit - again just grassy stuff. They want to take blood tomorrow morning to check her out. The Dr said that the drooling could be because the crotons can cause the lips to get irritated and go numb, and then they drool. He thinks she is perfectly fine, but wants to do the blood work to be on the safe side.

Keep your fingers crossed for me please! :crossfing

What is it about animals and croton leaves? I have one as a houseplant and my cat started licking the leaves everyday. He never bit them, just licked. I finally wondered if that could harm him and found out it could, so I moved the plant outside. Now that it is too cool for it to be out, I moved it back inside but fortunately haven't seen him licking the leaves again.
