did anyone hear the news about a few animals having to be treated for H1n1 after getting the virus from their owners?
Besides me being worried about my kids, now this, I am so stressed out!

I have read it's very rare and not to be overly concerned about it.
Yeah I just read that. It was the first I heard of it.
According to the Oregon Vetrinary Medical Association a 13 year old Cat in Iowa and a Ferret in Oregon both tested positive for H1N1 in the past moth. Both animals survived.

My understanding is that it is possible that H1N1 could crossover to other animals including dogs. However, for dogs the bigger concern is H3N8 (Canine Flu). Most dogs survive H3N8, although some dogs can get pneumonia which can be fatal if not treated.
they reported this morning the case of a cat getting it. I know some geese have it as well and a pig.

Isn't that the craziest news.. I had to read it twice when I saw it!
crazy news is right!

I do hope it is rare.
Livy had her spay today and both my kids have been sick over the last few weeks. I hope my kids never had H1n1 and I hope none of my pets get it.

I heard the family with ferrets had 2 and 1 died but the other survived.
