whining

Hi there new to this site. I am concerned about the whining that my 9 month old does. He will put every single toy that he can find in his mouth then walks around whining. We have a Rott and they get along just fine. Large yard and he gets plenty of attention and exercise. Is this because he is young, it seems as though he never calms down. thanks

It could just be a habit. Some dogs whine out of excitement. It's really nothing to worry about. I have had dogs before that have done that same thing. He may or may not grow out of it.
Great thanks, he is such a great dog. I was worried he was just abit "off"
Whining

If he is "off" then Hudson is "off". He is around many different people every day and does the same thing. He grabs a toy and then whines and circles around people until he almost trips them:doh:. Then he will calm down enough to sit between their legs and get pets. He is whining the whole time this is going on. It's almost like if someone doesn't touch him his little head will explode. (Not literally of course):p:.
I had an old girl who came to me at 10 years old. She couldn't hold a toy in her mouth without whining the whole time. Some goldens are just much more vocal than others.
My Maggie used to "talk" all the time. Just another endearing golden trait.
Thanks you guys are wonderful. I feel better.

Oh, aw! Flora does that too. It used to really bother me when she was younger, and sometimes it DOES get a little irritating when she whines really loudly and insistently, but most of the time it's just cute. She'll do it out of the blue, too. She'll be fast asleep and we're watching TV, and if one of us laughs loudly or something, she immediately gets up, grabs a toy, and starts crying and whining.

It's a golden thing, methinks. :)
