They found the pesky thing in the garden late one night, had a tug of war with it - and to the victor the spoils. It did "live to fight another day and is now lurking in the toy box.

That's my kind of snake! I've found copperheads around my property and very close to my front porch, so very scary...your snake looks like a non venomous variety.

I thought it was a real snake too, and for a split second I was trying to figure out what kind of snake is red and purple with stripes like that, and why you would stand there taking pictures of your dogs playing tug of war with it! :doh: :doh: :doh:

Yep - the grass is fake - you can't tell during the day, but the flash on the camera does reflect a bit at night - but no more mud here crossfing)

Believe me - if that had been a real snake you would have heard me from miles away. That is the 2nd snake - first one gave up the ghost last year but this one seems to be made of sterner stuff although it has had it's head stitched back once. Whoever wins the tug of war usually stands on it for a few minutes and then prances around with it and the game starts all over again.
