Can someone please tell me when do puppies stop begging for food? I never give my puppy anything from the table as I read that's what I should do. Sometimes I crate him when we eat but he can still see us, his crate is near the table, and when I don't he tries couple of times by jumping on the table and then he stops after he realizes he's not gonna get any, but will he ever stop doing that? I can't drink a coffee without him sitting in front of him and waiting to get something (whatever is we're eating or drinking)

Uh... never? LOL I NEVER give my dogs food from the table.. ever. And every single meal they beg. It's not usually any obnoxious behavior, more just them hovering nearby hoping for something to be dropped.

If I am eating at the coffee table, however, it can be annoying. I make jokes that Sam gets quite a workout while I eat there because he'll walk to the side where my food is, and then I'll move the bowl to the other side, so he'll walk around to that side, and then I'll move it back. We probably do that about 30 times in the course of one meal. LOL

Haha...very familiar with that, i also end up moving food or whatever from one side to another although I have to admit he looks very cute when he jumps on the table at this age, only his had is on the table :D

I don't know! I use the only "GO LAY DOWN" and never feed them. I think mine have given up. They know its not going to happen! Thank you aditra! Hopefully he stops begging soon. If not I put them outside or in the crate while I eat. I can't stand begging.

I must be very lucky. Bailey does not beg for food. However, if you do leave food on the kitchen table and noone is in there, she will find a way to get the food.

I have 6 dogs and a relatively small kitchen. Since I also take in rescues, I sometimes have as many as 12. There is a large opening from the kitchen in to the living room and I make them leave the kitchen when I start cooking. They all line up at the entry way and wait for us to finish eating. They still beg, but only with their eyes. They sit or lay there with that golden look. You all know the look.
