Hey guys I was told by my friend if I want to get a purebred pup, the owner should have some sort of certificate for the parents and also for the pup? does anyone know? thanks!

AKC is the American Kennel Club. AKC papers come with purebred dogs. It is basically saying that both parents are the same breed. It does NOT guarantee the quality of the dog. While AKC registration is important what is more important is the health clearances on the parents. Golden have a lot of health issues. The parents of the pup must have Hips, Elbows, Heart and Eye clearances. This should be a deal breaker for you if these clearances are not done. You will pay more for a puppy from a reputable breeder that has all these clearances but it will be worth it. Search around the forum there is a lot of great info on here. Take your time and you will find a great puppy.
