@Sankari I am so glad he is ok! What a relief! What a sneaky boy with his selective hearing for English 😂
Thank you 😊🙏🏽 we are also super relieved - I had quite the weekend worrying. The vets, techs, radiologist, internal medicine specialist at the clinic didn't buy my version of his selective hearing at all - they were very surprised.. They said he was a very good boy, "extremely cooperative", "couldn't have had an easier time"..🙄🤦🏽♀️ And there I was, insisting it's not possible as he doesn't listen to us in English....! Of course he enjoys making us look like fools! I swear he's conning people. He's a con-head (Succession reference)! 😂@Sankari I am so glad he is ok! What a relief! Glad to hear you got a good report on both his health and his behavior. He sounds like a very, very smart boy. Who knows how many languages he understands? I think he's been holding out on you!Thank you 😊🙏🏽 we are also super relieved - I had quite the weekend worrying. @Sankari im so glad Ramses is ok! My dogs hates the vet(well Denver loves them till they put her on the table.) And Denver totally has selective hearing. If it isnt her favorite words its not worth listening
Ramses seems like a funny pup! We have construction going on infront of our house. As the whole road is being torn up. Tucker barks at the people well Denver stares at them🤣Thank you... 🙏😊 I am so relieved on the health front. His behaviour on the other hand - that's soo questionable! In the past week, a sheriff and people at this clinic have managed to get him to understand English! I tried again this evening and he laughed in my face and snorted! Argh... way to drive me crazy! Not sure if he's very smart yet as some other goldens on the forum (I like to lower my expectations... but he's 100% cheeky!) 🤣
Hahaha Denver definitely knows what she wants! Ramses likes people to fuss over him - he gets so excited at the vets because they are examining him and he's really curious about everything (2 dogs are fighting - he's got to watch that, builders are building a home - he must see their progress, and it's not even our home.. 😶 ) I bet he thought he was special today for getting shaved 🤣 What can I say... 🙈
Ah that explains! Hahaha - that's typical sibling rivalry 😂@Sankari yes Denver does, Denvers actual brother is there Golden. They get to see each other about 1 time a month. Denver doesn't like Moose(his name suits him 85lbs and skinny, high energy).
Well Ramses had to learn about why the dogs were fighting🤣. But wow it took 10 minutes for them to break them off?
We have had a fun couple of days. First, one of my friends from my hometown came to visit and the weather was really nice so we spent time by the pool. Bitsy usually sleeps a few hours during the day, but she wanted to be one of the girls and hanging out, so she was a pool dog all day. At around 4 p.m. she could barely keep her eyes open - it was so cute. But she insisted on hanging out, total FOMO. She’s shaping up to be a great pool dog this summer and that makes me so happy. She is pleased to just hang out in the shade with a nice breeze and observe the yard, keeping us company. And she swims now and then, to retrieve a stick or bumper, or just for fun. It’s great and what I always hoped for her, to enjoy the yard that much. My friend brought some gourmet dog cookies for Bits and she loved those also.
BUT she did not love them as much as … the snake skin that she found this morning! “What’s in your mouth? Oh, EW.” I’m telling you if someone made a snake-flavored treat, I’d buy it.

Then today we went to a favorite park and Bits ran the bases, mostly in the wrong direction and the wrong order, but she still loves it, just rips right around the diamond. And also we continue to help the maintenance crew keep the park clean! She found a child’s sand shovel that she proudly carried all the way back to the car.

Im glad Bitsy was unharmed. Careless people with aggressive dogs...... A doodle or poodle pretty sure it was a golden doodle. Came running at Tucker the other day not on a leash luckily Tucker was in control. But the dog tried to bite him. Owner gave me a look like it was my fault. The Devon Horse Show started today and we went over for a couple of hours this morning to get exposure to lots and lots of stimuli. We've been to the show grounds before for smaller events, but this is the real deal famous invitational (for most of the classes, you have to be among the best in the country to qualify, this requires campaigning all year). It's also got a fair attached it, so there's an arcade and a Ferris wheel.
Bits did really well - a little spooky at some new things to see, but if we just hang out in a spooky space and get used to the environment for a few minutes, she quickly builds confidence. Plus treats obviously.
She received pets from toddlers and seniors and everyone in between and she loved it.
Isn't there always a BUT though ...
BUT someone had a dog there that was very aggressive. Bitsy was at my heel in a sit and receiving pets from some seniors when it walked by and lunged at her, and not to say hello, it was on the offensive. Its teenaged handler barely grabbed it before it made contact. Bitsy was unfazed, but it was 100% not cool. What's even more uncool is that it happened AGAIN when the dog got too close to use one more time. Again, my dog was at my heel, minding her own business, on a very short lead in my control and in her own space, and again it lunged right at us, this time from behind. Why they would have a dog like that at an event like that is utterly beyond me. I'm so glad we were unharmed.
The dog looked like a wild boar to me, that was its shape. I have a pic of it. Someone said maybe Chow/Akita mix and another said maybe Shar Pei. Whatever it was it was in a comfy harness enabling it to angrily lunge in any direction it pleased.
Back to my sweet girl, being awesome and raking in the compliments from strangers 🥰 We left before the day/the pavement heated up.

I get when people are training a puppy/dog and sometimes the puppies/dogs behave crazily - pulling the leash etc... I had the pulling of leash problem with Ramses in the beginning. He was pulling towards people, children and other dogs back in my neighborhood (license to only roam there because of COVID and I had to get papers to even do that!!)..Im glad Bitsy was unharmed. I get that when they are a puppy. I had this issue with Denver until she was 9 months old. Luckily in a small town there isnt many people in the morning or night. She learned quickly and i can now walk her with a collar on only. But the doodle poodle or whatever he was wasnt a puppy. We have lived here for 9 years. And they have had him for a long time like 4 or 5 years.I get when people are training a puppy/dog and sometimes the puppies/dogs behave crazily - pulling the leash etc... I felt so ashamed, like a failure whenever he did that. I know some people and some children can be very afraid with a random dog pulling up to them like that. And I always, always apologized and said we are training, I'm working on it. Some of the "regulars" have seen how much he has progressed and I'm proud of that. If I was in any of these situations, not confident with my dog I will try a quieter setting first- that's just me. What do I know, I'm a first time dog owner 😬 but at the very least I would have been terribly sorry if my dog had behaved that way and I would have expressed that towards that individual person and dog - don't know if that helps somewhat or not.
Glenlivet is living the best time of his life - he's cruising! 😄 Safe travels and have fun on your adventures..!
