I thought this would be a fun topic, and it’s evergreen.

We went to a preserve. This is Okehocking Preserve in Newtown Square, PA.

Anyone else want to share?

Yesterday i took both of my dogs for a walk. Not offleash its not a safe place. Then came home each pup took a nap. Then 1 hour of them playing, then a 1 and a half hour 30 minutes invertals offleash run with some fetch. Came back in they were freezing it was 10 degrees. And then some more snow playing. Afterwards Tucker had puppy class(we did a confidence course, which had some agility jumps and tunnels, he loved it. After he got a puzzle toy and had it solved in 3 minutes).Denver had to stay home with a bully stick. I plan on 2 hours 30 minutes each time of running and playing offleash. Some training, and im hoping for the snow to melt away. Ill have to get some pictures.

Each puppy had a short walk(5 minutes each maybe 10 it was 0 degrees). Then after it warmed up to 15 degrees both puppies ran atound outside for 30 minutes then 30minutes running inside, a small nap then another hour of running. Now they are napping again.

I plan on doing a 10 minute run each today. Then 2 hours of running in the backyard. Its -2 degrees so i think they will only be outside for 10-15 minutes at a time. I need a place for then to swim. Anyone know a way to introduce a puppy to water in the winter?
IrisGold -- beautiful photos -- especially the sepia tone one! Making me wish spring was here.
GoldenRetriever Lover08 -- the bath tub. LOL. We don't swim our dog in winter but many folks do. If our front yard floods or freezes -- we play there. No lake trips for us in winter. Brrrrrrhhh.

Today is making dog treats. Lucy just left for .5day of play at the "Dog Lodge". I miss her already. 😢
We dont have a bath tub and he is to big for the sink. He also doesnt like the shower. Im going to take him to a relative and try the bath tub there.

I introduced my girl to the water last December at 4 months. I found a place that taught Dock diving with an indoor pool and they had puppy swim classes. Try searching for dock diving in your area. She was retrieving out of the water the first day, and I will 100% do the same with my next puppy.
I found a place that had a pool but its over 1 hour away, and they are booked out for a few weeks. Im calling a place tomorrow. He loves to fetch one of his favorite things.

Today we played outside for about 1 hour, i set up a agility course and it was super easy for both of them. Then we just got back from our 40 minute walk, im suprised Tucker made it through with his little puppy legs, i tryed carrying him when i thought he was tired but he wanted to walk the whole way!

Ahhh, sounds like a great day. A winter agility course is awesome. We did it last year but so far have not set it up. We are getting snow / rain / snow / mud / ugg. It is a mess.
I love that you were prepared to carry Tucker -- but -- nope -- he on his own! 💞
It wasnt a big course, just a ladder, a jump or 2 and then some weaving poles. Im buying a tunnel. After the walk yesterday he slept for 3 hours straight with no waking up!🤣 then he had a ton of energy again.

Oh, thank you! I am so proud of her, and we are learning together which is very fun!
I can say right what I’m going to do with my dog tomorrow: give her a bath. She needs one. She wants to smell like dead stuff she rolls on. I want her to smell like peaches, lol.

I am VERY jealous of your snow. Bitsy hasn’t yet seen her first real snow and I think she would love it!
And in Wisconsin we have half a foot of snow which turned to ice. So now its a ice skating rink for my pups! Im sure Bitsy would love the snow!

Do you guys in the northern Midwest play broomball at all? I knew a guy from Minnesota and he said it was big there. It sounds like a way to be glass-half-full about ice. 🙃

Today we had a play date with my friend’s lovely chocolate lab, who is one month younger than Bitsy. Until recently, there was a size disparity, so we didn’t try play dates. But now they are pretty much even and the girls had a great time. I’m fussy about play dates for Bits. It wasn’t something I scrutinized enough when I first got her, and I made one or two bad matches (not for temperament, for size) until I wised up. Thankfully nothing ever fazed Bitsy, she remains friendly and comfortable and eager to play with others. I was happy to see her have such a great time today!

They were both so muddy but only mine showed it - straight to the shower she went when we got home. Now she’s resting by the fire.

Today we havent did much, i plan on 2 hours of running in a while. Or maybe 1 hour with a walk, then puppy class tomorrow. Even though it was a waste of money, so in looking into a better obedience class.
I love this thread 😊 Since last Wednesday we have not been up to much since Ramses decided to be up to some mischief.

But now he's all better, I have come down with a nasty cold, sore throat and fever 😕 I think my apartment neighbors are a bit scared of my loud sneezing the corridors - I do wear a mask though, just can't stop the sneezing fits. My husband has to go to work. I have only brought Ramses for toilet breaks - yes I'm terrible 🤦🏽‍♀️ So today he's learning the art of taking care of me instead while I go through another box of tissues 🤧😕

Aw, you guys are having a time lately. I always say I want my dog to be adjustable. We do the best we can for them on almost every day - some days you have to just cool your jets. Hope you feel better soon! I was walking out the door today thinking: I haven’t been sick in a while. Which typically means I am about to get sick. 😂
I want my dogs to be adjustable i never have a daily schedule except for food, and bathroom breaks. Im not always able to take them on a walk at the exact time every day. Hope you dont get sick.

Thank you 😊🙏🏽 I'm so exhausted. I hope you don't fall I'll either... This cold/flu seems particularly nasty. The European way of dealing with this sort of winter flu/cold is to stay at home and drink tons of tea.. I saw some meds here in the US and thought to try it. Hope it will stop the awful sneezing..

Thank you 😊🙏🏽 he was naughty with his crouton eating adventure last week.. 😆 I haven't caught a cough (yet- don't want to jinx it) but the sneezing fits + congestion is more awful than the fever + sore throat. Ramses laid in bed quietly with me until my husband came back and then he promptly flew off the bed 🤣 I hope he runs his heart out now. He doesn't like it either but back when I was in France, many always said/held the belief that the pets can sense when you're not feeling well...
I didnt get the cough until the end, hope you dont get it. And my goldies can sense when im not feeling good they lay right next to me or dont bother me at all when im sleeping.

GoldenRetrieverLover08 -- Good luck with your own agility course. Our first tunnel was a garbage can with bottom sawed off! LOL
I made a small one with some cones, a jump and then a ladder just to get them use to going over new obstacles. I plan on adding on to it and eventually making it a full course

Yesterday we did some running around, then a small walk. Today we wont be doing much, its cold, it was raining this morning now its snowing (like a blizzard, we walk outside and both dogs are covered in snow in seconds. They arent golden retriever they are snow retrievers!🤣). Me and my older golden have done scent work since she was 4 months old. Now i can hide a toy with barely any scent and she finds it so quickly. What scents do all you use?

Hope you had a chance to get out in the sunshine today. That can do wonders for your health and your spirits. Here in Wisconsin we got about 5 inches of wet heavy snow today. It was beautiful at times, but out on the roads was a real mess.
Re: nasal congestion and stuffiness - have you ever tried a product called Breathe Right Nasal Strips? I don't know if they are sold in Europe or if you're familiar with them. I'm one of those people who usually has good luck wearing them at night, and it makes such a difference if you can get a decent night's sleep.
I live in Wisconsin to and i got 7+ inches. And it took 2 and a half hours just to plow out of our driveway. The pups love it, time for snow pictures later! The nasal strips ive never even heard of, i use essential oils and they work like a charm to.

We went on a 30 minute walk each pup seperated. So i could work on training on the walk, Tucker only got scared once of a semi, which i calmed him down and the next time one went by he was fine. We are going to go run in the backyard for a while. Then Feburary 19th obedience class starts for Tucker!

We went on a walk today 40 minutes, together! Tucker thinks he can pull and doesnt realize he is on 25lbs. In about 2 and a half hours we will go outside and play some fetch, and do some scent training(with Denver). Is Tucker to young to do scent training, he is 13 weeks old almost 14 weeks old? I didnt start wih Denver till she was 5 months old, and she has a nose and can find anything. Ill be getting some snow pics since i couldnt yesterday, and ill post a few!

I start my puppies on scent training (Scent Work; finding and retrieving objects I drop or toss in long grass; even tracking if I can) as soon as they have settled in at home. By starting these activities before they are Obedience trained, I build their ability to work independently.
He can retrieve already and i just thought it was super early. I did try doing a pheasant track with him and he tracked it!
