I thought this would be a fun topic, and it’s evergreen.

We went to a preserve. This is Okehocking Preserve in Newtown Square, PA.

Anyone else want to share?

We went to the field a bit further from our home to do some field training as we do every morning. Actually the picture was more about the sky than Ramses...

Then after practice, we decided to tan because our pink noses needed it 😂 all before the chilly weather is supposed to set in. A toddler was learning to walk so Ramses was watching that while I had my breakfast.. (note the clean deck - our royal highness only lays on clean surfaces 🤦🏽‍♀️)

After 2.5 hours, we got home and he is snoozing. We will be out later again - we are hoping for some snow fall 😅

Is it possible for you to share where you got this cool looking duck? 😅 Thanks 🙏🏽
I love this thread 😊 Since last Wednesday we have not been up to much since Ramses decided to be up to some mischief.

But now he's all better, I have come down with a nasty cold, sore throat and fever 😕 I think my apartment neighbors are a bit scared of my loud sneezing the corridors - I do wear a mask though, just can't stop the sneezing fits. My husband has to go to work. I have only brought Ramses for toilet breaks - yes I'm terrible 🤦🏽‍♀️ So today he's learning the art of taking care of me instead while I go through another box of tissues 🤧😕

Aw, you guys are having a time lately. I always say I want my dog to be adjustable. We do the best we can for them on almost every day - some days you have to just cool your jets. Hope you feel better soon! I was walking out the door today thinking: I haven’t been sick in a while. Which typically means I am about to get sick. 😂
Thank you 😊🙏🏽 I'm so exhausted. I hope you don't fall I'll either... This cold/flu seems particularly nasty. The European way of dealing with this sort of winter flu/cold is to stay at home and drink tons of tea.. I saw some meds here in the US and thought to try it. Hope it will stop the awful sneezing..

He is beautiful! I just got over this sickness i had a sore throat first, then my nose was all congested, and i had a cough. It was horrible i havent been sick since the beginning of 2020, and im sure my pups didnt like it.
Thank you 😊🙏🏽 he was naughty with his crouton eating adventure last week.. 😆 I haven't caught a cough (yet- don't want to jinx it) but the sneezing fits + congestion is more awful than the fever + sore throat. Ramses laid in bed quietly with me until my husband came back and then he promptly flew off the bed 🤣 I hope he runs his heart out now. He doesn't like it either but back when I was in France, many always said/held the belief that the pets can sense when you're not feeling well...

Thank you @LucyNoble and everyone else 😊🙏🏽 and @GoldenRetieverL0ver08 - I'm hoping to avoid that cough 🥴 I'm still all congested and my nose is blocked but none of that awful sneezing, the fever broke and no more nausea 😅 The weather in Portland area has been sunny today and I think that should help when we head out soon as I feel better now 😊.

Yesterday, Ramses was "working" with the maintenance guys of our apartment complex corridors as I was still not a 100% and they told me he could hang out with them. He generally stalks them from the balcony after our training drills as they work at a few apartments and drive these golf carts around. I don't think he fixed anything so I got to earn nothing from my golden 🤣

Hope you had a chance to get out in the sunshine today. That can do wonders for your health and your spirits. Here in Wisconsin we got about 5 inches of wet heavy snow today. It was beautiful at times, but out on the roads was a real mess.
Re: nasal congestion and stuffiness - have you ever tried a product called Breathe Right Nasal Strips? I don't know if they are sold in Europe or if you're familiar with them. I'm one of those people who usually has good luck wearing them at night, and it makes such a difference if you can get a decent night's sleep.
Oh yes I did - it was actually 14°C/57°F here! Very sunny - felt like spring! I took Ramses out and felt so much better 😅 I do miss a bit of good snow and winter though but I hate wet snow! We get that ugly snow in Berlin too 😫 There is the neti pot though but I'm such a coward to try and use it 🙈 Besides that the European advice is to drink tea and more herbal teas! There's some pills OTC but nothing too strong, have to go to the doctors for an appointment which people rarely do. This is mainly because you get an automatic 3 days to be at home and recover and 14 days for COVID (and this is without a doctor's notice, but for covid you need a positive test). But now that I don't go to an office anymore and work remotely, I want this thing gone! So I'm glad for this tips! I'll get some and try them 😊

Time to earn some money Ramses! Then teach Hallie! 😂
I hope you are feeling 100% better soon!
Thank you 🙏🏽 oh poor Hallie - she's probably a good girl, helping you drop off your kids! 😊 Ramses is what we call our little rascal... according to them, he was insistent on picking up one of their hammers and walking around with it when they had to move locations.. The rest of the time he sat there and watched them work. They told me he was monitoring and observing all their moves with a smile! Award winning smiles don't earn us money!! 🤣🤦🏽‍♀️

last night my 3 year old passed her CGC! So proud of her. Today, we're just going to hang around the house. We've had a ton of rain lately, so if the yard is dry enough, we'll probably play fetch. The puppy is trying to learn the rules of the house; he has just started to discover his teeth and enter the land shark phase. We're going to try to have several small training sessions throughout the day if I can time them appropriately: hungry enough to be food motivated but not hangry, alert enough to learn but not be too wild. Every time we try, the teeth come out  I didn't forget about this phase, but I forgot about this phase 😂
Congratulations on the CGC! 😀

The second guy, i dont like him either leaving his dog outside in freezing weather and not ficing water food or proper shelter.
That's really cruel! 😳 Good thing they don't live in my neighborhood back in France. They would have called the cops. People back there already complain if dogs bark too much incessantly ... But sounds like your dogs had a fun day though 😊

We called the cops, the human society and a few rescues they cant do anything. There is 2 other dogs we have turned in to for the exact same thing. And what is worse the guy that leaves the dog out, well at least we were told he uses him as a stud service just because he is pure collie. I wish i lived in a area that cared more. My dogs arent done with their day yet, a walk/run for each of them, if my leg holds up.
Such a pity they can't do anything! But leaving a dog outside in freezing weather is just awful! Sorry to hear about that - at least you tried... I can imagine your golden despises him (the owner) for good reason!

I don't know how to think of the French back home. They want to maintain the "historic reputation of our neighborhood" - the privacy, peace and quiet of the neighborhood is no. 1. Anything deviating from the norm, is generally reported directly to the cops, therr will be petitions and then they will get lawyers. Lawyers who primarily already live in the neighborhood 😬 They don't mind the occasional barking but incessant barking of a doberman has now landed my next door neighbor in court - for repeatedly disturbing the peace 🥴 Perhaps with the gates and fences and walls, it's not as easy to identify if a dog is left outside all day. We had a German Shepherd in the neighborhood whose vocal cords were removed - debarking. This is illegal to do in France.. And the owner was a vet who did that and he also left the German Shepherd in appalling conditions. We always saw the German Shepherd left outside all day.. The owner had been reported by someone else in our neighborhood and the vet lost his license to practice and the German Shepherd has been rehomed in a different home in the same neighborhood... I don't know if attitudes are the same all over France though...

Oh, my i feel so bad for that German Shepard. I havent stopped trying, i had accidentally bought a rawhide bully stick, luckily only one pup got a inch off of it, then threw up all over the vehicle. I went down there yesterday with their permission to give them the stick, but little do they know i took a few pictures, just to show what living conditions they are in, i know there are no laws against this in my town, and easily it looks like i zoomed in from the sidewalk. The look in their eyes hurts me , and as soon as i told them they would be ok they settled down and chewed on the bone, i just wish they had water besides muddy water.😞
This is so sad and depressing to hear 😔 it's good that you take pictures and they didn't know about it. Hopefully with evidence, it will make a difference soon.. I remember the sinking feeling whenever I walked past the German shepherd when he lived with the vet. I think there's some animal welfare law in France - so people are reporting it and going to court. Muddy water as drinking water for a dog is just disgraceful. I don't understand why someone would bother to have a dog when they act like they don't even care about the existence or that the dog should thrive 🤦🏽‍♀️

I know, they had a saint benard before the youngest puppy. I walked him for a year, gave him food water and when it was super hot i would purposely take him on a walk just to go give him shade a fan and demat his coat. In the end he got rehomed, it was a really lonn story about them, i have typed it out a million times. But they dont deserve a dog. And once again its cold windy and just finished sleeting and both pups are outside. And the youngest puppy isnt spayed, i dont even think the other dog is but now coyotes are moving in, and one dog is on the loose. Here are a few pictures, its devastating ive never seen someone this bad at taking 10 minutes out of their day to give them proper food/water View attachment 900524 View attachment 900525 View attachment 900526
This is awful and deplorable conditions!!! I just can't understand how is this acceptable 😭 You are right - these people shouldn't ever be owning any type of dog or animal!!! Argh coyotes well - we had a conversation about that on my thread.. Is there really no laws in the US that could prevent this person from keeping these dogs? I just feel that Americans in general, in my short experience being here are so kind and passionate about their dogs - there would be a law against this. People here so dog friendly - more so than in Europe in some cases... This makes me equally mad and sad with the person doing this to these dogs. 🤦🏽‍♀️

We arent the only people who have turned these dogs in. Im not sure exactly the laws. But i have talked to cops about it and they say that it isnt a emergency that there are animals in worse conditions. If i could i would go unlock the gate and let them run then say i found them wandering around town, although i can because the oldest dog is very aggressive. We are good friends with the town cop, but he is really busy and doesnt have a lot of time. Being the only town cop plus firefighter, emt, police officer for different town and trying to be home every night for his family. When we see him next ill say something about this, in the meantime ill look into the law.
Can't blame the dog for being aggressive - the conditions he's in doesn't help I suppose 🤦🏽‍♀️ I wish you lots of luck that this will end on a positive note soon.. It's hard when the resources are limited. Can't compare with my neighborhood back in France - it's like they have a ready made lawsuit to launch for everything if the townhall isn't fast enough 🥴

We didnt do much but some training and some play in the house. As it has been sleeting out all day.
We have had the same thing here in Portland! We actually had a couple of really sunny days last week before the weather turned.. Ramses didn't want to come back home after an hour outside.. - But I had enough of the wet snow sensation. Hoping that maybe it will be cold enough that we get some nice snow fall and it might stay just for a day or two 😅

I did find something in the WI law about dogs. Now i have proof its a barking law, but these dogs bark day and night. We had a whole week of nice weather, litteraly being outside for 2 hours a day plus walks, now we are stuck inside because i cant take the cold.
I guess it's not surprising that they do bark day and night 🙁 Hopefully something will work. The barking can't be great either... I'll have to take Ramses out again now because he has seen the dusting of snow now and has been begging me to let him out to enjoy it. He doesn't care if it's sleet/wet snow or snow! But I most certainly do! I am sorry you can't tolerate the cold 🙁 I'm the opposite and hate excessive heat - I skipped most of horrible summer last year in Europe when I got to be in Svalbard with Ramses for work and I paid the price and a warm winter followed. That's what I get for wanting to cheat summer and get 2 winters 😂

I cant take super hot temps or super cold temps. If it is to hot or cold im inside. If its above 85 degrees im inside if its below 25 degrees im inside. I wish i could travel but i cant, i have other animals that need caring for, only camping trips i can get away with.
That's understandable! I hate extreme heat - odd since I'm born in a tropical country! That's true, it's difficult to travel when you have many pets! With one golden, we had to do many arrangements - I would really like to get another golden but our jobs require travel.. so maybe not for the time being 🙁

So sorry to @LucyNoble! That looks terrible! I hope the tree has been removed? Stay safe and hope you guys are going to be able to be back to your usual routine soon!

@Megora so sorry for the lost of your trees, glad no one is hurt... And at least your Goldens are having some fun

Sorry to dampen all the sunny weather with wintery weather on the west coast! The temperature here has plunged to -3°C(26°F) but we are having these gusts of wind which makes it feel like -11°C(12°F)! Nearly two weeks ago I thought it was summer here at 15°C (59°F) 😃 But having lived in North East Finland for 7 years and working in the Arctic, I really am enjoying this much more - feels more in my element!! A bit too much according to my neighbor though 🙈 We got snow at last! 😅 And Ramses loved the blustery winds too from his time in the Arctic with me! W drove to a park to let him enjoy! Some pics from last night when the snowfall started and today!

As usual I love the photos and stories. Ty all. We had a rough day but it ended well. I will keep it short. Lucy was in Doggie Day Care and spouse/I managed the tree crew that were awesome. The problem limb is off the electrical line and the tree on the garage removed. They also took all debris that spouse, I, Lucy collected yesterday. Whew -- crisis averted as the electrical line stayed in tact thru the crews work. Two thumbnails of the tree work -- one big picture of Lucy coming home to "HER" courtyard being back to normal.

We just got back from a run about 30 minutes ago. And i found out Tucker is a runner. He would rather run that walk. Denver would rather walk than run she doesnt want to run on a leash.

Yea, he is super energetic and has tons of energy that never wears off.
I think the boys are always at it - just like human boys 😂 Ramses was fighting with a plastic bag that was flying in the wind last night after coming out of the car to return home. He's so proud of himself 👇🏽😂🤦🏽‍♀️

It has been a rough week for all of us with contractors and insurance agents visiting due to the storm damage on 2/23. Lucy has been has trooper thru it all.
Similar to @chelseah we were able to exercise sit/stay when the humans were talking -- it was a reminder to our lovable Golden that not every human loves her like we or our friends do.
@Sankari and Ramses -- he was protecting you from the flying bag -- what a champion he is!
Lucy has been protecting us from the wheelbarrow and wood pile that has recently grown in size and shape. She thinks she is so brave. LOL.
Lucy is doing great - considering having contractors in the home are no fun 😮‍💨 I'm hoping it will be better in the coming weeks for you... That's so adorable that she would protect you from wood pile and wheelbarrow - she just wants you safe 🥰
