I thought this would be a fun topic, and it’s evergreen.

We went to a preserve. This is Okehocking Preserve in Newtown Square, PA.

Anyone else want to share?

Made a bunch of trails in the backyard and cleared the tetherball court.

The dog is always supervised while playing tetherball. She loves chasing it and also playing tug-a-war -- notice the pole is bent. LOL.

Our walk this afternoon. Gatsby looks like a capuchin, he had a recent brain surgery and hair has to regrow on his head and face.
I love Gatsby's look -- so adorable! I hope he is recovering fully.

@bitsybama Those are some "fierce" action photos. I love it! Where is your snow? LOL.
Also, here’s a pic from yesterday. Apparently Bitsy’s pup cup was life-changing ....
🤩🤩🤩
I bring a can of whip cream to agility class sometimes lol. I’m pretty sure it’s how I’ve gotten her to get better at not abandoning me at the end of the course to take extra obstacles.
Super Treat alert! Whipped cream and that sound of shake/shake and wooosh.
IrisGold -- beautiful photos -- especially the sepia tone one! Making me wish spring was here.
GoldenRetriever Lover08 -- the bath tub. LOL. We don't swim our dog in winter but many folks do. If our front yard floods or freezes -- we play there. No lake trips for us in winter. Brrrrrrhhh.

Today is making dog treats. Lucy just left for .5day of play at the "Dog Lodge". I miss her already. 😢

Today we played outside for about 1 hour, i set up a agility course and it was super easy for both of them. Then we just got back from our 40 minute walk, im suprised Tucker made it through with his little puppy legs, i tryed carrying him when i thought he was tired but he wanted to walk the whole way!
Ahhh, sounds like a great day. A winter agility course is awesome. We did it last year but so far have not set it up. We are getting snow / rain / snow / mud / ugg. It is a mess.
I love that you were prepared to carry Tucker -- but -- nope -- he on his own! 💞

.... It’s really starting to click now, she turned 10 months old yesterday. We had a great day today, went farther than ever in the neighborhood, passed another dog (on the other side of the street), really good stuff. It’s really exciting when things start to come together and are consistently reliable. Also she looks so cute when she’s out there just bebopping along, tail wagging and having a great time. ❤
She is so pretty and so happy. You are doing a great job with her. That bebopping strut must be very rewarding. Amazing how your dog's joy becomes yours and vice-versa. I love it! 💖💞

Our Sunday was an 8am walk in a winter wonderland. Spouse and Lucy do this daily.
Me, weekends or vacation days only (code for out-of-shape, lagging behind, etc.)
I swear .... they are trying to kill me for the insurance money. Lucy at least ... waits for me to catch up. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I am so behind on posting but love the updates.
Megora -- weather in MI turned warm. I hope you got to go swimming!
IrisGold -- Thelma (frozen duck) with Sammy is absolutely the funniest GR photo I have seen!
GoldenRetrieverLover08 -- Good luck with your own agility course. Our first tunnel was a garbage can with bottom sawed off! LOL.
Bitsybama -- I am so happy that Bitsy has not one ... but two new friends this week. Yeaaah. Dogs seem to pick their friends don't they (with our help). I love the photo with the "snot rocket".
Sankari -- You and Ramses are taking good care of each other. So sorry you have been unwell -- please heal soon. Ramses and we need you.

Lucy and Hubby have their weekday routine while I slave away at work. Playtime at 7am. Walk in the park at 12noon. Nap or cook or sneak treats late afternoon. Playtime with Mom at 4ish. Snuggles and quiet play in the evening. Pretty good life, can't complain. Well .... nobody better complain!! HaHa.

Lucy goes to Doggy Day Care on Fridays for a variety of reasons (e.g. human medical treatments mainly -- when not that -- house cleaning!).
Lucy comes home for Day Care whooped. We did play hockey today when she returned and I am having trouble posting the video. My bad.
Anyway, I will have to admit that my Golden Retriever is really a Golden Blocker. She likes anything fired/kicked right at her so she can block it. One/Two/Three ... she is fearless and blocks all.

Have a nice weekend everyone! Remember Puppy Bowl marathon will be on TV!

We are having a bad day and it ain't getting better any time soon. Trees down due to ice storm, branches everywhere and two limbs on the house. This one is really, really bad as it is balancing (some how) on our electrical wire. Waiting for Electric Company to arrive and Emergency Storm Tree cutter. Amazing we have power. Lucy is confused why she can't go in her courtyard.
She is helping pick up limbs in the front which is a safer area for now.

My mantra the last few years about all things is ..... "it could be worse".
Let's get back to wonderful daily stories about you guys and your adventures -- your stories and photos make me happy!!! 💞
When I wrangle this situation (along with Lucy and hubby) we will post success. 🤞

As usual I love the photos and stories. Ty all. We had a rough day but it ended well. I will keep it short. Lucy was in Doggie Day Care and spouse/I managed the tree crew that were awesome. The problem limb is off the electrical line and the tree on the garage removed. They also took all debris that spouse, I, Lucy collected yesterday. Whew -- crisis averted as the electrical line stayed in tact thru the crews work. Two thumbnails of the tree work -- one big picture of Lucy coming home to "HER" courtyard being back to normal.

@Boondox -- I love Kazoo! Every time I shovel trails for my dog, she takes the hard way thru the "daffodils" anyway.
@PalouseDogs -- No mud? A day with no mud in the house? Yeahhh!!
@Ontariodogsitter -- Your dogo is sleeping is so peacefully! I am jealous. That toy looks like a crown!

It has been a rough week for all of us with contractors and insurance agents visiting due to the storm damage on 2/23. Lucy has been has trooper thru it all.
Similar to @chelseah we were able to exercise sit/stay when the humans were talking -- it was a reminder to our lovable Golden that not every human loves her like we or our friends do.
@Sankari and Ramses -- he was protecting you from the flying bag -- what a champion he is!
Lucy has been protecting us from the wheelbarrow and wood pile that has recently grown in size and shape. She thinks she is so brave. LOL.

Well, it cleared up after about 2 weeks of rain so I took Ginger and we got the car washed, did a little outside in the yard while she “helped” and then went for a walk around the block…without my cane. If I get “energetic” I might brush her out later. We’ll go sit on the bench up front so the kids coming home from school can say hi.
This is so sweet, I love your post @1oldparson -- which is really @1young parson!! 💖 Ginger in a car wash makes me think I need to take my dogo thru a car wash!
Around the block is huge and keep it up if you can. I wish I was your neighbor so we could walk together and greet the kids together. 💞

But I remembered to check our outdoor cams, which I have set up to monitor for vermin (primarily raccoons) and one of those cams caught a pic of us playing in the yard this afternoon.
OMG. I love this photo especially because it was unplanned! Absolutely beautiful. Bitsy's paws, ears, the sun in background, attentive owner watching. TY for posting. 💖

Love the pictures @1oldparson. Your dog had a busy week and tomorrow will be too. She looks so cute ... but ... also has this look of "bows, seriously?" Ha ha.
Our Sunday involved shoveling snow once again and a walk in the woods where Lucy and Hubby go daily -- I join on weekends. Thank goodness Lucy stops occasionally to check on me and makes sure I am vertical and still walking. 💞 Afternoon involves some resting by the fire and watching TV (for them). I am doing taxes and GR forum. 😎

I read this thread every few days and it makes me so happy! Thanks to all for your posts.
@bitsybama - You are doing an amazing job with play and training and I love the photos of Bitsy with Perry and Winthrope (who names their dog Winthrope?) LOL
@1oldparson - Ginger's adventures and your posts (short and sweet) touch my heart.
@GoldenRetieverL0ver08 - Too funny on the bell. I have never trained it because of your experience. Gotta love it though -- attention needed -- "Ring the bell"
@
Chelseah - Congrats on the training and we loved the video! Lucy and I watched. Ready for next level challenges!
@Sankari - Well, what can I say -- Lucy loves Ramses and a long-distance love affair has started. I comment on all his pictures and she sits, looks and listens.
@Megora - Lucy has a crush on your boys too -- I told her she may have to choose.
@SRW - Your training w/Lily and Jake is so impressive -- we are in awe.
@GoldenDude - Thank you for raising pups and sharing that journey. I don't know how you do it. It is so honorable.

I love reading the adventures of you 'all and your beloved GRs. We have been busy with medical appointments, home hunting, family issues, etc. But on the Dog front the following:
1. Turkeys -- THEY ARE BACK. I won't resurrect my Turkey thread but these pesky herds came out of hibernation. Lucy and I both hate them ... for now ... outside of property line but Lucy is on guard.
2. Deer -- aka Neighborhood pets now. They stand at the property line taunting Lucy. Her bark does not even phase them anymore. Lucy warns them anyway. 🤩
3. Ducks (Donald and Melania) LOL -- they come every year and nest on our property. Currently they swim in our flooded front yard which has 3 ponds. Lucy shows her hunting/flushing skills. 🏅
4. Cranes -- there was two, now only one -- they stand in the ponds and eat roots or whatever. Lucy hunts/flushes them too.

I may not be using the right terms on 3. and 4. but Lucy stalks the fowl in the pools of water. Then full-speed goes after them. If the fowl hops from one pool of water to the next, she does NOT give up and repeats the stalking and full sprint. What I am left with? A soggy stinky GR that is panting like a friggin' freight train. LOL. 🤩 All the above happens every day and has for the last 2 weeks.
