Well shaved was more like it but still. She got in to the field behind our house over the summer and I swear rolled every plant of catch weed bed straw she could find. I got home from work my mom told me I needed to go look at Kyra. When I looked out into the backyard I was horrified for a brief second. It looked like all of her feathering had been cut off and her tail was really thin too. After my mom told me she didn't do anything to it I looked closer and she was covered in burrs.
Her chest, sides, tail, legs, belly, and even in between her toes had them. The only spot that wasn't covered was the top of her back. After about 45 minutes my mom and I finally finished brushing them all out. Kyra was loving it.

Before

After

She had helped pull some of the burrs out. That is why her chest hair looks cut.

Ha, Bender did that too, only she looked like a prickly coated lab, no feathering at all anywhere. Took days to comb her out a bit at a time.... Storee doesn't have that much coat and doesn't tend to go into the prickles either.

She looks awesome in the 'makeover' though!

wow. That must have taken a whole day! No way the Pud would have sat still for that. Luckily, we don't have burrs up here...

Wow! I always wondered what those burrs were! Lacey did the same thing last year. Not nearly as much as Kyra! But, you're right, it takes AGES to get them all out! Good grief!

OMG I have never seen so many burrs in a dog's fur!! I had been wanting to post about "sticky" seeds and such this time of the year. Every time I walk Brooks, he comes home with some....but now I know I have nothing to complain about.

Ugh, that just makes me cringe. I'm glad you were able to get them out. You will find singles in her coat for several days though, I know I do after a run through the bush.

Wow, that's just crazy! The poor thing must have been miserable until you got them all out. Did you end up with a callous from holding the brush so long?!?
