I am thrilled to announce that I just got off the phone with Ron Rella from the AKC, who called to inform me that "Robin" (Am/Can CH Nitro's Boy Wonder, BISS, BOSS, SDHF, CGC) has won the Law Enforcement category for the AKC's annual Award for Canine Excellence for 2009! The award will be presented to Robin on December 12th, 2009 at the Eukanuba National Championship dog show in Long Beach, Ca., and will air on National TV in February of 2010. This is the first time in the history of the ACE Awards, that a Golden Retriever has ever won the ACE Law Enforcement category. No small task in that "pointy-eared" world!

Robin was nominated by his friends at the Kennel Club of Buffalo, and we
are extremely grateful for all their support over the years. Robin is also
forever indebted to all the Golden members of this list and across the country who donated to the purchase of his bullet proof vest a few years ago.

I can't begin to express the pride I have for this fabulous boy. A million
thanks to all of you who have supported us on his amazing journey...

I'm forwarding this to one of my best friends who has a Robin baby that is the sweetest golden ever, and crazy smart!

Her boy actually was shot by a police officer who responded to her house when their alarm went off for no reason - the officer claimed an aggressive chow was threatening him so he shot it... I could see their jack russells being aggressive, but never this sweet golden! It took him a while to recover, but sweet Rex survived being shot!
