Hi, my GR Marley is 11 weeks old today. About 3 or 4 times a day we take him for a walk/run in a field next to our house. We also take him out for play time to fetch his ball or stick.
What I am wondering is at what age do you start taking your puppy for a 1 or 2 mile walk? I thought I read somewhere to wait for long walks till hes alittle older. Something about it bothering the hips?

Hi! And welcome to the forum! It would be better if you'd take your Marley for walks on soft surfaces, like grass. Pavement and any other hard surfaces are not good for a young puppy's joints!

We waited until Mojo had all his shots before venturing out into our neighborhood on walks. And even then, we weren't gone longer than ten minutes at a time until he was 6 or 7 months old.
