My sister gave me one of her extra crates to use when Payton comes home in 3 weeks. :banana:Her GR is Bella and she's almost 8 years old. Do I need to try and "clean" the crate to get rid of Bella's smell? Will Payton be bothered by this or not?

My sister-in-law lent me a second crate when we got Hank. He didn't seem to notice.

I don't think the scent would be an issue but it would be best to sanitize the crate since your pup won't have a full set of vaccinations when he comes home. Better safe than sorry.

What can I use to sanitize that won't hurt the dog?

Bleach/water solution of 30:1. (1 part bleach to 30 parts water. I never actually measure it... I just very little bleach in a spray bottle with mostly water.)

or clorox clean-up...let it dry and you're good to go

I bleach my dog stuff all the time, then I rinse very well and wash again with dish soap. I do this with the bowls, toys, and crate trays.
