I posted recently asking for advice on cushings as I was hoping this was what Sam has. I wasn't happy with our vet who kept giving us more antibiotics and telling us it was an infection and so went for a second opinion. Results from ultrasound, xrays and blood tests have today very sadly confirmed that my beautiful boy has haemangiosarcoma. It's on his spleen and liver, the spleen's enlarged and the liver is four times the normal size. We have decided to keep him happy for as long as possible. At the moment he is very happy, still his playful self and eating well.

I wasn't expecting his illness to be this horrible disease, the only thing I can be glad about is that he has got it at 13 and not at a young age. Every day of his life so far has been happy and that's the way I want to keep it.

Shoot...I am so sorry to read this.

I mentioned in your other thread that we found out with Kody that we had bigger health issues to deal with than the Cushings as well...lymphoma. I was so hoping that would not be the case for your Sam.

As others have already said....soak up every moment and try to focus on each day as it comes.

What a shock for you. Hemangiosarcoma and lynmphoma are the two words I hate to hear. While he's happy just spoil him rotten....and savor every moment. It's never long enough.

Spoil him and make lots of happy memories for the family and him. I am sorry you got the news. Have you contacted your old vet? If not, then I think he would and also let him have a piece of your mind. Give your baby a big hug and kiss. Such a goodlooking boy Sam is. Love the stick picture.
