Very sorry for your loss, I agree with Carolina Mom the words are just beautiful. Would you like me to add Chance to the Rainbow Bridge List?.

I am so sorry. Chance was a handsome guy. I think it is the one and only really bad thing about having a Golden; they tear your heart out when they leave.

Thank you for your kind words.
I knew it would be bad but had no idea how bad. Goldens are so special.

You may always miss him but it won't always hurt so badly.

I am very sorry for your loss. I was always fond of your boy.

We cant prepare ourselves and it can be bad beyond the words. It has been over 8 years I lost my Buddy and still when I read posts at this section I can feel the same raw pain like it just happened. Hugs!

I'm so sorry. I can truly empathize as I lost my Luke a week ago today. It's hard to believe he's gone. Chance is a very beautiful boy. Prayers for peace and comfort.

I am very sorry for your loss. The heartache is difficult. I think most of us here understand exactly how your feel. That exerpt is beautiful and and so true. It made me cry also. We lost Odin on Jan 10 and although it hurts less and we miss him so much, reading your post brings it right back. Chance was beautiful. May he rest in peace.

I read your words and tears are just flowing. I lost my precious Sophie 2 days ago. I had her from 4 weeks until 14 years and one month. I knew this would hurt but it has no words. I hope those of us who have lost our goldens can heal. My heart goes out to you.

I am so sorry for your loss of Sophie. It's been more than 6 years since I lost a dog but tears still flow every time a read someone's post about loosing a dog because I remember those feelings as do so many others on the forum. Perhaps you would like to start a thread and tell us a little about Sophie. I think some people find it consoling to do that--sort of a memorial and to receive words of comfort from those who understand the loss.

Your post would be similar to mine. We lost Cody on Sunday. Monday was a terrible day as we stayed home from work. Getting up today for work and not having Cody there at the door was too much for me. I still said my closing words today like every other day "I gotta go to work, pup, I'll be back later. No licking (he always liked licking his paws)."

For those of us who have lost one of our dogs whether they are Goldens or another breed, know exactly what you are experiencing. It's one of the hardest things I have ever gone through, I have lost 6 over the last 20 years, they all lived well into their upper teens with the exception of one.

The first loss was the hardest for me, but each dog that passed was a very profound loss for me.

With time it does get better, the grieving process is different for everyone. Give yourself time to grieve and for your heart to heal.

I've had dogs all my life, had them while growing up and through all of my adult years. I can't imagine life without at least one dog.

Those words really struck me and I can’t stop crying. I lost my sweet girl yesterday, very suddenly, at only a year and a half old. I just want her back. You are not alone.

I’m so sorry you lost your beautiful boy. The tribute was lovely. It’s never easy. I know what you’re going through as we lost Lincoln, our beautiful 10 year old, this past August from hemangiosarcoma. I hope the wonderful memories you have will help to ease your pain.
