Sophie does it to Duke too. I believe she's just trying to be "boss" at that time, just to bug him. After she humps him, he starts playing with her... it's a way to get his attention. They do it to each other and it gets the other going.

I have been at the dog park and seen people stop their dogs from sniffing other dogs but they are perfectly fine with humping. We usually stop the humping. We use the off command.

It is not always a sexual thing, it could be playing and dominance. Just keep telling her off.

Yeah, you probably are just an idiot. ;) You know what they say, takes one to know one!!
No no, you are brilliant, it's a dominance thing... which reminds me. You came after I posted all the naughty pictures of Max and his turtle Mac. Let me connect the thread for you so you can get a laugh and see that you are not the only one to face this pornographic material!!

As one trainer put it quite simply.... 'because he/she can!'...

Have yet to find a shorter, more to the point answer than that one... here Ticket (the only boy) is usually the subject of that attention, the girls just keep him in his place, poor dude.

LMAO, you guys are awesome. We just tell her off... usually before we even tell her that Mojo tries to gallop away like a horse and they start playing. Hilarious. I figured it was a dominance thing but it never hurts to ask. LOL.

Jenn, OMG. How is their relationship now!? Now that Max is older? I hope Mack is still cool with Max putting the moves on him like that!! Mojo has a HUGE loofa dog, and he loves to go to down on that. It's too short for him to actually make contact with, so he usually ends up humping air. LOL.

Ahhh. Who needs cable televison when you have dogs?

Brady's playmate is an 8 yr old female yellow lab. She humps him all the time when they play. I've yet to see him hump her though. He just sits/stands there while she does it...almost like he likes it.

Nooo! Mack!! I'll bow my head for him. Did Max have withdrawals?

LOL, Brady DID like it. Having a hot, older chick hump him! Oh yeah!!

Sam never humped anything...Ike humps everything. It's embarrassing! I don't think it's a dominance issue with Ike, he's not a dominant dog. I'm pretty sure it's all play. He and the Golden across the street take turns with each other...both neutered males. Ike doesn't care which end he mounts either...head, tail, or somewhere in the middle:eek:
