Tilly has an appointment with the specialist tomorrow. It takes quite a while to get an appointment as this particular specialist must be very sort after as she spends time in lots of practices in different parts of the country. Anyway, we haven't had much fun with Tilly's nails recently, its like we are back to square one (Tilly has an auto immune disorder that causes her nails to become deformed and eventually fall out, we had her on a type of medication that got them almost back to normal...but recently it has stopped working) I am also generally worried about her...she seems to have almost constant cystitis and has had severel courses of antibiotics...it clears it up for a week and then it starts up again. She has also vomitted several times this weekend. I want all this to be investigated further, something just doesn't feel right with her. She has almost completely stopped playing with Harry in the house, it has been weeks. The poor girl must be in so much pain with her feet, she often walks like an old lady, and I have to lift her onto the sofa. It is so sad to see.

Apparently the next step up from the tablets we are on is steroids...I really hope there is something else that we can do, I would hate her to be on steroids. Anyway, I will let you know how we get on tomorrow. :wavey:

So sorry Tilly is back having nail problems. That has to be gut wrenching to watch her hobble around in pain like that. I'm glad you were able to get an appointment with the specialist. Hopefully she will offer some ideas that will give Tilly some relief. We will be thinking of her. Please keep us posted on how she makes out.

I feel so bad for Tilly, it sounds like she is feeling really bad with her nails. We will keep both of you in our prayers that the vet can find something that will work for her nails. It must really hurt to see her in pain like that. Good luck tomorrow. We will be with you and Tilly in spirit.

Oh poor Tilly

We experienced the same thing with Atopica. It seemed a miracle, but lost power over time.

Yes, I worry about steroids long use, but we do need to make their lives comfortable day to day. I am leaning to going back on temeril-P, although expensive, it kept allergies in check. I don't know, as with Tilly it is a crapshoot.

We have seen the specialist, tried the shots, switched foods, done the Atopica and the red tummy and feet are still with us.

I'm so sorry to hear she's having nail trouble again, I was hoping the meds would continue to do the trick. I hope the vet will have some good treatment for her.

I'm sorry Tilly's nails are getting bad again. Hopefully it's just that that's making her feel so bad. I hope the specialist can find something else to help her feel better and get back to playing with Harry, who I'm sure is missing his buddy. Let us know how the appointment goes.
