I was petting Scouts neck this morning and he has a hardish lump in his neck. Now I have a thyroid cyst...and that is what I would compare it too, but I'm not eve sure if this is the same location. It's about the size of a small walnut maybe...if this is what I'm feeling and it's just not a part of his body.

Because he has this stupid puppy acne...now I'm a little more worried. Calling the vet monday.

He acts 100% fine. The only thing is he eats like he is starving all the time, has from the start, could he have a thyroid issue? I just noticed the bump this morning because he was doing that hic-up thing and I decided to rub his neck to help him out.

I would post this under the health and anatomy section if I were you to be on the safe side. I will feel Max up later and see if I can feel what you are feeling but I'm going to say I've never noticed anything like that yet. Will update this thread a bit later. I'm not ready to let the beast out yet. :D

Thanks. I always post in the wrong places.

I thought puppy fit... : )

He is acting 100% normal. Just that annoying puppy acne I'm trying to get rid of under the arms. Which I think antibiotics might be best for at this point. Just hate putting him on them.

Noah,
My Rusty has hypothyroidism. I have never felt any type of lump with it though..... He was gaining weight rapidly, his coat is very dry and falling out in some places and he is a L.A.Z.Y. boy!!!
The medicine helps quite a bit but he is still too heavy and his coat is usually dry...

I would watch for those signs if your worried...of course this is common in goldens...if your concerned, have your vet test your pup...

Has he had a vaccination recently? It could well be a very common issue - lumps at the injection site of sub-q vaccinations can linger for several weeks before being resorbed.
