I was searching through some old pictures the other day and came across these ones of my heart dog, Skokie. She was our family's 3rd golden and passed away much too young from Lymphoma
In 2006, she died at 4 years old - a week before her 5th birthday, and from the time that we saw her first symptoms and her last day, was only about 10 days.
She passed away peacefully while at the cottage with my stepdad, in her favourite spot overlooking the lake that she spent every one of her summers playing in! Skokie was so sweet and kind, quirky and beautiful. It was really, really hard to let her go and our family thought we would never be able to own another golden, for the reason that we didn't think we could ever have another as sweet and loyal as her.
Thankfully the day came that we all decided we were ready for another dog and needed it to be a golden!
Anyhow, here are the pics!
