We just got back from showing in Ft. Wayne yesterday and today and it was great. I wish I could have stayed for the next 3 days of shows, too, but we're showing in obed. instead this weekend.
After much thought, I sent Tito in the ring with a handler who is very well known for handling Great Danes, but doesn't normally handle sporting breeds (Jeff Lawrence). After seeing him work with Tito for 60 seconds, there was no question in my mind that Tito should go in the ring with Jeff!
I'm VERY excited to say we were in the ribbons both days! Yesterday he got 4th (out of 8 Open dogs), and today he got 2nd (out of 9 Open dogs). I was sooo pleased! Yeah, I know it's not a first, and it's not points, but I was very very proud of my little guy.
A couple of photos from yesterday. The photos are candids, except the one where Jeff is holding Tito's tail. He wasn't brushed for the ring yet...meaning Tito, not Jeff, LOL

Congratulations on the ribbons! and on finding a handler who tito works well with.

Tito is just absolutely gorgeous. Even when he is upside down chilling out!

thanks! I'm rather in love with him, too, LOL!
The last photo was, obviously, shot in the hotel room. He manages to relax pretty much wherever he is.
Tomorrow we have a fun match (obed) and then Saturday and Sunday we're trying for our first UDX legs. At this point, it's not so much about getting the legs as it is about "showing well"!

do I detect your tongue in your cheek??? LOLOL, he wasn't brushed yet in the photos, and he just got done blowing coat. I didn't realize how bald he was (Tito, not Jeff, I did realize Jeff was bald :p:) until I saw the photos when I got home!
Before we left for the show I had someone local who breeds/shows/grooms goldens groom him. She really did a great job. Then I bathed/blow dried him before the show, and misted and fluffed him before the ring time. Luckily we had late ring times both days.
Yes yes, Barb REALLY needs to learn to groom. Maybe in my next lifetime, LOL.
Oh BTW, I think one of Fisher's kids was in the ring with us. Have to check my catalog if I can find it!

Oh the comment about Jeff being bald made me laugh!!!!! Ha ha
No he looked good for being out of coat, just curious.
Hmmmm....I don't know of any Fisher pups that are in the show ring right now, let me know if you figure out who it was.
Congrats again!
