We just got back from showing in Ft. Wayne yesterday and today and it was great. I wish I could have stayed for the next 3 days of shows, too, but we're showing in obed. instead this weekend.
After much thought, I sent Tito in the ring with a handler who is very well known for handling Great Danes, but doesn't normally handle sporting breeds (Jeff Lawrence). After seeing him work with Tito for 60 seconds, there was no question in my mind that Tito should go in the ring with Jeff!
I'm VERY excited to say we were in the ribbons both days! Yesterday he got 4th (out of 8 Open dogs), and today he got 2nd (out of 9 Open dogs). I was sooo pleased! Yeah, I know it's not a first, and it's not points, but I was very very proud of my little guy.
A couple of photos from yesterday. The photos are candids, except the one where Jeff is holding Tito's tail. He wasn't brushed for the ring yet...meaning Tito, not Jeff, LOL
