Bailey is now about 10 1/2 weeks and we've had her for three or so. Maggie (6) was very grumpy during the first several days, but I'm happy to report they've started some friendly play sessions here and there. Seems like we still have to watch Maggie when she gets really wound up. Almost like she doesn't realize how much bigger she is.

Anyway, things are progressing nicely I think. Bailey does well in her crate and she has been having fewer and fewer accidents and...scratching at the door every once in a while to ask to be let out.

Can't wait until we can stop watching the clock for trips out!

They look so cute together! Our Springers were like that when we brought Eli and Bailey home. They get along great now. It all takes time.

Look at all that cuteness! I'm so glad to hear they're getting along. We get our new puppy in a week and a half, and we are curious to see how Coby (11 yrs.) reacts. Like your situation, I think he'll be fine eventually...but until then, who knows. Good luck with your new pup!

We were a bit concerned initially, because Maggie would just growl and walk away anytime Bailey came close to her. Then she would tolerate her laying down next to her, if she was napping as well. Finally, they started playing around in the family room. Made us nervous at first, since we weren't used to seeing Maggie interact with her, but as long as her tail was wagging and Bailey kept coming back for more we let them go.
Outside is a little harder, when Maggie gets running around and really active, she gets too aggressive for the pup. We have to remind her to be gentle. At least until Bailey gets bigger.

Those pictures are definitely awwwwww worthy! Just darling! I'm glad they are getting along so much better now. It's always a little disappointing when pets don't hit it off like you had hoped they would. It usually works out fine though. Yay!

This is how I imagine things going with Coby, too...I hope, I hope. How was Maggie when it came to sharing her toys?

When it comes to the toys (and Maggie has a bunch), she doesn't really mind Bailey playing with them. Every now and then, if she's really into something she might just pick it up and trot off a few feet to give herself some space. The thing we have to watch is when they get flavored chews...Bailey might get bored with hers and just want to investigate what Maggie's doing, this doesn't work. Maggie will growl, grab the chew and move away quickly.

But with toys...they're pretty good at sharing.

I'll see what I can do. I have to pester my wife to transfer them from the camera software into a folder that I can use. That's her domain, I don't mess with the transfer, editing, and organizing of the pics.

Ohhhhh how cute!!!! So nice to hear they are getting along. My older pup (6 months) took to our new girl very well, too well....gets too over excited and doesn't know his own strength. Almost 2 weeks into it and they are better together, but we still need to stay on top of them.
