The Bumpasses are going to the groomers

I have cut their toenails and shaved the feet myself, bathed them and trimmed them, all their lives. But tomorrow they are going to a groomers for the first time. She has great cred, but I am so afraid I will get a call to come pick them up because they are not cooperative.

I have a bag packed, stuffed bones, liver, and Abby's special shampoo. Well I guess if they don't make it I will know I am the better groomer! DH says what is the point, when you can do it. Well because Abby's ears look like Dr. Irwin Corey's (maybe too old of a reference for some) and Finn just needs a good bath.

Wish us luck!

I love that you call them the bumpasses! We call our goldens that quite often!

I hope the cuts turn out well!
We will be needing pictures. I'm afraid to bring my knuckleheads to the groomer for the same reason. Let us know and see how you made out.
Good luck ... I am sure they will be fine. But I can't say that I have ever heard of anyone packing a picnic snack to go to the groomers. Might have to do that myself ...
well, good luck with that. We could have used a professional groomer after our tundra adventure yesterday:yuck:, but there's no such thing in this town..
Too funny. How or rather why did you ever start calling the the Bumpasses? It makes me laugh every time I see it.
Good Luck Finn n Abby! Make u r Momma Proud!

Yep, I wanna see b-4 n after Pic's! :)
A Christmas Story, they will steal your turkey every time. Rent it.
Good luck! We do all of our grooming at home. I'm afraid to bring Tucker to a groomer since it seems like there are very few groomers out there that actually know how to properly groom a Golden. I'm afraid of what he would look like when we picked him up! We just got this new shampoo/conditioner made by Hydrosurge that smells like mangos and peaches. I bathed Tucker with it 2 nights ago and he still smells like a tropical fruit basket and his coat is as shiny as ever!

I know the movie well and I love it, just wondered why?

No, I don't believe it. Not those two innocent pups, LOL.
Selka had been to the groomers when he was young. I was with him the entire time cause I didn't want a noose around his neck or being in a crate all day. I still didn't like it so he had never been professionally groomed again. But now I can't physically do them both anymore so we hired a mobile groomer who came highly recommended by someone I trust. I checked the groomer out, she was great with all my questions and inspected their truck which was gorgeous. So it took an hour and Selka looked beautiful after.
He is going to be groomed every 12 weeks. I can handle in between.

I hope the bumpasses have a good experience and look great!

I've taken Max once, the girl didn't appreciate that I wanted to stay with him while she did him. I was not about to leave him with a stranger for several hours, so I read a book and watched from a distance. I know she wasn't happy, and I wasn't terribly happy with the job she did, so I've been looking for another groomer - he's so thick and curly that I have a hard time keeping him looking good. (Right now he has a couple mats that I'm feeling terribly guilty about.)
Can't wait to see photos of Abby and Finn post groomer!
It's going to be tonight, I ran and got them and took them home after lunch. They took it really well and the groomer said they were very cooperative! Actually, the reason I trusted this one was my vet recommends her. Finn peed for about five minutes when he got home!

Soft and fluffy they are! Pictures tonight. Thanks for thinking of them Deb!
Glad they made it through the day and were both good! Can't wait to see pictures!!
I kinda knew they would be fine. It's their Mom that worried too much.:curtain:
Alas, somehow I have lost the cord that goes from the camera to the computer!

Mental Haze? I have looked everywhere. Off to Photopro tomorrow, they will smile and lift an eyebrow when I leave.

I will say, the doggies were not much in the mood to have pics taken when I got home. And although the groomer's said they were great, Finn vaulted the gate to get out and Abby is pouting. Maybe I should continue to do it myself, but they do look great. Finn is two shades lighter!

And Abby's feet look fabulous. She's like "what's the big stink? I love my hairy feet?"

I forgot to tip them! I was so thinking of getting my babies back! And I had a twenty ready, just forgot to lay it down! They probably think I am a cheap beatch!
