Those are words you hate to hear the vet say.

Sandy was diagnosed yesterday with lymphoma. We've had goldens since 1997. Just once I'd like to have one live to be old and die of old age. She is only 6.

We are supposed to hear from our regular vet today who happens to be the specialist in this area and chemo with more details and so on. I've been around these dogs long enough to know the vet won't have much good to say.

Ugg. I'm so very sorry, She is much too young for such a grim diagnosis. If are open to holistic veterinary care, my holistic vet once told me that she felt lymphoma was a cancer that was the most responsive to holistic support. Working with a holistic vet, in addition to the traditional protocols, might buy you more time and/or quality of life. Praying that Sandy responds well to whatever treatment you choose and gets as many quality days as possible... [[hugs]]

I am very sorry about Sandy's diagnosis. Loads of hopeful thoughts for lots of good days, weeks, or months.

Goodness, that's awful. :( I'm so sorry. Praying for you all!

You might want to consider feeding your future dogs a human-grade canned or raw diet and avoid vaccinations. My cousin has 2 Labradors that she has had on a raw diet for several years. The oldest just turned 6 and she's doing GREAT for a dog her age! She shows no signs of slowing down at all (with the exception of just being a mature dog), no health issues. Both dogs coats are super soft and shiny, their eyes are bright and clear, their energy is up, and they rarely have to visit the vet.
