There is a need for a 3 week foster for a golden retriever who is a service dog. Here is the information that was sent to me:
“A friend of mine, who also is in a wheelchair, is looking for someone to foster her Golden Retriever Service Dog, Divvy, for 2-3 weeks. This past weekend, he developed Idiopathic Vestibular, which a bad case of vertigo in older dogs. Usually, the dog begins to feel better after 72 hours or so, but full recovery can take 2-3 weeks. His eyes rapidly dart back and forth and everything spins for him. Because of physical limitations, she cannot care for him for the next few weeks. If you or someone you know can foster him for a few weeks, please PM me. I know she is beside herself, as I would be too if something like this happened to my Archer. I would foster him myself if I could physically do so”
I was given permission to share with this group. The owner has been in touch with our local Paws with a Cause service dog program (that is where her dog was trained).
if anyone has experience with this type of thing, please reach out!
