Hi everyone,

I want to apologize for the inconvenience you experienced this morning when trying to log on to GRF. What a surprise many of you received when you tried. I believe we have got to the bottom of this and things should be back in order now.

Thanks for you patience. It was a lot of fun reading the emails I received, many with the title, "Banned -- but why?"

I asked the same thing when I saw that my account was banned too. :wavey:

I never got a banned message either... Any idea what happened? I just saw the notice on the site stating: "We have taken the site down to investigate some suspicious activity, we hope that this will prevent any further damages while we perform repairs. Please check back in approximately 1 hour for an update."

I too was banned forever. I share Karen519's sentiment about almost crying! LOL I requested my $15 back because it said banned forever and it gave no reason. I'm happy everything is up and running, I feel much better now and I hope that they do not credit my credit card back!

I felt as if I had lost my friends forever when I saw I was banned. I thought maybe somebody stole my ID.

Something in our database got corrupted. We did not get hacked. I thought we did. I guess it's human nature to react that way when something online goes wonky.

There is no covert operation here to do anything malicious that would inconvenience you guys (or me for that matter):wavey:. I was in a tech meeting about 10 minutes ago. If you've ever been in my shoe, then you'll agree wholeheartedly when I say that I walked out of that meeting at the end not understanding half the things that were explained to me. All that mattered to me was the site was up and running again and letting you guys know.

Oh and one last thing -- the banned error message would have been visible to everyone who tried logging on or accessing this site from around 10:05am until we put a temp maintenance message up. No one was banned. Nothing was deleted. Back to being another Tuesday.

Well, I have to admit my feelings were kind of hurt . Then I realized I was not even logged in, and my provider uses a batch IP....
