I have a Shark robot vacuum that I really like. It can map, but you don't technically have to use that function, you can just press a button & have it free-roam. It's a little less efficient but still gets the job done. I have a split-level and use the map to vacuum most of it then the mapless function to get the rest since it can't store multiple maps. It's also really good at getting right to the edge of stairs without ever falling down them.
