My dog developed this rash about a week ago on his stomach around his genitals. It is hard to tell in this picture, but it is also really bad on the side of his penis. He doesn't seem irritated by it, but he does occasionally try to lick at it like normal. He has had an ear infection for about a month now so I already have an appointment scheduled at the vet for this Thursday. I am hoping to get an idea of how I can minimize the rash or any possible discomfort for my golden.

I don't see a rash. I see irritated skin, I'd wash it well and then dry it well and maybe put some gold bond medicated powder on it till you can see the vet.

Lilah had staph infection on her tummy off and on, this looks similar and we always needed an antibiotic to clear it up.

Neosporin should help a bit in the meantime, but whenever my goldens developed pyoderma, real antibiotics were needed for at least 10 days.
