I know that a 3 dimensional square is a cube.

What is a 3 dimensional rectangle called?

This is a question that managed to ramble through my brain at lunch today. I ate alone and just started to think....

Probably should cut down on that.....

This is what google came up with LOL (I remember calling them rectangular prisms in geometry classes, guess that's changed haha)

"Its only a cube if all the edges are the same length (and of course the sides are perpendicular). What you're referring to is a right-angled parallelepiped.

It's a cuboid ONLY if a pair of sides are squares. If all the sides are rectangles, it's a right-angled parallelepiped.

A regular polyhedron is a polyhedron with all the sides the same."

I was taught rectangular prism originally (much later learned that it's a specific kind of parallelepiped containing only right angles).
