We have been trying for the last week to "allow" our 9 month old boy to sleep in our room. Until now, he has slept downstairs - first in a crate and for the last month or so "free" in the family room.

The problem is, I swear this dog has insomnia. We go to bed around 11:00 - my wife, the poodle, the golden, and me on the bed. After about 10 minutes, the golden heads for the bathroom floor. About 2 hours after that, he jumps back on the bed and settles next to me. An hour later - back to the floor. An hour later, back on the bed. Etc etc etc. I'm losing my mind not to mention my sleep.

Any suggestions? Gate him into the bathroom? Or leave him downstairs?

I think he is just enjoying his freedom and will have to wait until he gets older to be in the room.
