Hi all,
I am writing just to tell what happened when my puppy took her vaccine..
My puppy is 13 weeks old and she received a Parvo, Parainfluenza, Distemper and Adnovirus vaccine yesterday. After 10-15 minutes she started to jump and shake uncontrollably, cry and do some noises I have never heard before. She seemed to be in pain. I rushed back to the clinic (5 minutes away only), and when she got there the vet measured her heartbeat and said she was fine. I was not convinced at all. 2 minutes after she vomited twice and was very lethargic (low blood pressure?) and while walking to the veterinarian's office she kind of felt on the floor.. By then the veterinarian took her inside and and gave her a benadryl shot. I stayed there with her for about one hour with her and the color of her gums got back to the healthy color.
I am really afraid to vaccinate her again. They told me that next time they will pre-treat her with the benadryl shot 15 minutes before give her the vaccines.
Well, I just wrote that because I know this is really rare but it could happen. Always stay in the clinic after you pet gets her vaccines...
She is still a little bit sleepy today, but is doing fine. :crossfing
