what kind of harness do you need for a dog to pull you along on a kids scooter etc, i was on with alongside with angel n she insisted on pulling me, she loves it, but its not safe for them to be just on there collor i dnt think, what type of harness would i have to get for her?

I don't know myself but I'll bump this up. I know there was someone on who has a golden that competes in pulls. Might look in some of the competition forums. What ever, just be sure it is done safely & a collar is not a good idea, you could damage the trachea.

Pudden's mom has Pudden pull her on skis (among other things I think!!)... she may be a good person to ask.. I know she uses a harness on Pudden that I've seen in the pics.

yep; we use a skijor or mushing harness; sedigned for pulling. Go with the size recommendations for your dog's weight or a size smaller; most people want to get too big a harness.

They make a shorter version where the snap is behind the dog's shoulder blades. Some people like these better, but I find the Pud pulls more enthusiastically in the longer version. However, we use the short one for bikejoring, where she doesn't have to pull much.

Harley is a wagon pulling Golden, we use a siwash harness that distributes the weight properly pulling from the chest and shoulders. I ordered his from a harness maker in New Hampshire for about 50 bucks. I'll get the name for you. Just a note about safety....never have a dog pull unless you use a harness designed for it.
Pudden's harness may be more suited to what you want your dog to do, the harness I use is more suited to wagon pulling much like a horse harness would be. A simple collar or halti should never be used, the dogs neck is not designed to pull weight.

The custom pulling siwash harness we use for Harley comes from Bill Wilczek @ wilczekwoodworks.com.
We do a lot of wagon work and have been totally satisfied with his harness (it's the harness in our avatar)
