I would appreciate if you could send some positive thoughts my husband's way. My husband developed a blood clot in his lung this past November. Little did I know at that time that we would be starting a journey (mostly together, but sometimes not, where we each retreat to deal with this in our own way). DH was lucky enough to have an emergency room doctor who questioned why a very active and fit 50 year old man would suddenly develop a blood clot in his lung and ordered a battery of tests and referred him to a specialist who ordered more tests. A few short weeks later we got the dreaded news that he had a mass on his pancreas and that he would need to have his spleen removed as well because the mass had interrupted blood flow to the spleen. It's been a slow recovery, but we've been told the prognosis is good; the tumor was a slow growing cancer (not the aggressive cancer you usually associate with the pancreas). He's been having symptoms again that are concerning and tomorrow goes in for another scan to ensure there isn't still cancer present. I honestly don't know how I would have gotten through the past few months if I didn't have Duke's calming presence...and now Charlie's. They will never fully understand how much they have helped me, but I know.

Prayers going to you and your husband. Sorry, I don't know what else to say except hoping that this is just an unrelated scare.

I am so sorry that DH and you are going through this and prayers are being sent. I know each person handles this in his/her own way and it is a very bumpy road for the other. Guess just being there and offering support is all we can do but know this is so hard. My prayers go to all and know the dogs are such a big help.

Many prayers being sent your way. So thankful all of the doctors were in the right place at the right time to give your husband the best course of treatment. Blood clots are evil little buggers, but in this case, it sounds like they have worked in your favor and the cancer was found early. Will continue praying for continued recovery and eventually a cancer free result. Hug Duke and Charlie. They'll help you find your way through this.

Thank you everybody for the thoughts and prayers! We got excellent news today from the scan (1st since his December surgery to remove his spleen and part of his pancreas). 100% cancer free!!!! They symptoms he is experiencing are not related at all to his pancreas and I couldn't be more relieved. It's been quite the day. Normally I'm not home during the work week, but with DH's appointment today I ended up working from home part of the time - which enabled me to rush Charlie to the vet once I realized he had eaten about 5"-6" of fabric from two of my husband's dress shirts. Vet was able to get him to throw everything up. Life works in mysterious ways. :)

Great news! Go celebrate with your husband tonight. :) Love it when prayers are answered quickly! :)

Glad you were home for Charlie, as well, but I'm sure that just added to the stress you've been feeling. You will all rest very well tonight.

Lots of love and prayers from Allison and Josie!
