her little lump in Feb turned into a big lump today. i make sure to check it everyday to make sure it hasnt gotten bigger. plus J gives her a rubdown everynight. i came home this morning and J told me, "this is not the same lump." it had grown in size and swollen. my stomach sank. went to the Vet, the vet tech said,"this doesnt feel like a lipoma anymore" there went my stomach again. this lump was so painful to Roxy, if i touched it, her body started to twitch/spasm. they shaved it and did a needle aspiration. i got tears in my eyes when the vet did the first aspiration and got nasty stuff out, when she went in the 2nd time and Roxy Yelped out in pain, i was sick to my stomach. i can only imagine how bad that hurt to make a dog cry so Rox has an abscess.abx and warm compresses.

Poor poor baby!!!! I hope she starts to feel better fast!
Oh my poor baby. That had to have hurt doing the aspiration. Give her a big hug and kiss. Did the vet say to put any warm compresses on it to help draw out any gunk? When Beau had them, I did that for him and it helped some with the pain. We will be saying lots of prayers that she is going to be ok. If you need to chat just let me know.

Carol, poor Roxy tried to get away the 2nd time then she yelped. our vet wanted to make sure it was an abscess. i have been doing the warm compresses. i still cant get that yelp out of my head, i know she is hurting. how did you do the warm compresses?
I would lay it on Beau and just sit with him petting him to keep him distracted. Hopefully it will be ok.
Poor Baby, that had to hurt!

Give her a big kiss and hug from the Ohio crew.

Hope she is OK!
Oh, man, when Duke would get grass in his ears and they had to get it out (different vet than now) he would yelp and whine and I would just sit there and cry.

Poor Roxie. I bet that hurts! It will feel better quickly now that it's allowed to drain. Is she on antibiotics?
That's not pretty. But I bet it will heal now that it opened. I know you will take very good care of her. Where is it located?
