Hey all,
So my husband has always had goldens growing up but this is the first one he has had to train...soooo he proceeded to treat our puppy how he did our dogs from day one which meant rough playing..hands in her face and all that..
I kept telling him it was a bad idea and she wouldn't keep up the biting and all that...well she hasn't stopped and now she wants to play with our hands like they are toys..even mine when I never did that with her.
I am not okay with this especially when she does it to other people when they are trying to pet her.
I am looking for ways to correct it..she is only 7 months so I hope it isn't too late to correct this behaviour. I have already told my hubby to stop that kind of play and when she tries to play like that (she gets in a play bow and play growls at his hands) to grab a toy instead. She sometimes takes the toy but other times she disregards it and goes for the hand instead. She isn't overly bitey with it either..more mouthy but we don't want that habit forming with kids in our future.
Also how do we work on nicer play time. When we are playing with a toy and if we are on the ground she jumps all over us trying to get the toy and sometimes gets our hand or arm when she is going for the toy..its completely unintentional on her part but it still hurts and is too rough..
Any suggestions are welcome...we are new to the training part hence my questions on here all the time..
