Hi everyone, just looking for alittle information and input about pet insurance. Do you have it? We live in Nova Scotia Canada, and I did alittle research and found petcare seem to offer a good deal.

anyone have any thoughts on the subject?

The reason for my question is we had to take Cutter to the 24 emerg vet last night after he started to vomit.Thankfully it turned out to be nothing major. Vet said he may have eaten to fast or possible had a mild reaction to his kennel cough vac. They gave us some meds for his tummy and cough med.

He is his usual calm 11 week old self this morning (translation he's got more go go than the sixties had). The bill last night was just under 300, which by my figures is just short of a years worth of insurance. If anyone has any thoughts or stories regarding pet insurance please let me know.

Thanks for your time
Rick, Debbie and Cutter

I don't have any personal experience with Petcare but have had PetSecure insurance (previously called PetPlan) for Maddie for the last 8 years. You can check out their site as they have 3 or 4 various plan types to choose from depending on your needs. An expensive GI problem with Maddie when she just came to live with us at 9 weeks old also prompted our decision to purchase pet insurance.

Good luck in your search. An fyi for you regarding whatever insurance you may elect to go with. They'll more than likely place an exclusion on whatever the medical cause was of last nights problem for x amount of time, at least that was my experience. After there were no claims for that condition for a set amount of time they did remove the exclusion.
