Does anyone have any recommendations regarding Pet Insurance?

I'm a bit concerned over my youngest's hips. He's only 6 months but a little stiff when he runs and refuses to jump up onto the bed or into the truck. My vet says she thinks he's ok but after spending $10k on a previous Golden with cancer, I'm not comfortable taking the chance again without insurance.

Do any insurance companies cover issues that are prominent in certain breeds? All opinions would be greatly appreciated.

I have Petplan insurance but have been fortunate not to have a claim yet.
As far as I know they cover hereditary disorders. However, I'm not sure what the policy is for pre-existing disorders prior to getting coverage.

Pet Plan would cover HD if it had not already been diagnosed.

I have had great service from Embrace. If the pet has so treatment for orthopedic issues and passes an ortho exam, the 6 month waiting period for those issues is waived and he would be covered immediately.

No diagnosis yet. He's been growing like a weed - tall and healthy - so I was hoping it was just part of growing into his body.

I'm asking about insurance now, BEFORE it gets diagnosed, so I can be covered when I take him in.

I'm planning on having X-rays done while he's under for neutering.
