Paypal Membership Issues

5658 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  Rob's GRs
Morning folks,

If you have made a donation via paypal to become either a Gold or Silver sponsor and you have NOT seen this reflected in your GRF user profile, please send me a PM with details of your Paypal transaction. I will investigate and get back to you ASAP. Thanks for your understanding and patience!!

On your Paypal billing, you should see the charge come from VERTICALSCOPE INC.

I am just copying and pasting what Yung had posted in another thread so that it is here as well for anyone with paid membership renewal issues.

If you have your subscription going to an email address other than an email address ending with @verticalscope.com, please CANCEL the subscription and start the process of becoming a paid member again. Sorry for the inconvenience. We've tried to resolve this issue with PAYPAL for months and months now and it's gone nowhere. Joe and us have been doing the payment reconciliations behind the scenes while we waited for PAYPAL to get their act together but it seems like now, the easiest thing to do is to just cancel and begin again.

Here's what I suggest for the following scenarios. Again, this only applies to users who have their subscriptions going to an email address other than one that is ending in @verticalscope.com:

1. Your account has recently been deducted/charged for renewal.

In this case, CANCEL the subscription BUT DO NOT begin a new subscription until this one runs its course.

So for example, let's say you just got charged a renewal fee of $20 on May 30, 2010 but you do not see your GRF account reflecting this payment.

- Cancel the subscription via your paypal.
- Send Admin (Yung) a PM with a copy of the paypal transaction that took place.
- Admin (Yung) will make the correction to your status on GRF once it is verify with Joe.

In this particular example, once the renewal runs its course (let's say it's for one year), then your status will revert back to a non-paid member. When that happens, that's when you should go through the subscription process again so that your paypal account will reflect payment to the CORRECT email account (again, one ending with @verticalscope.com). From there on, the renewal should be automated and without having to do this again.

2. Your paid membership is coming up for renewal.

In this case, CANCEL the subscription right away BUT DO NOT begin a new subscription until this one runs its course.

If you fall under this category and cancel the subscription before it renews, you do not have to notify Admin (Yung) or send Admin (Yung) any proof of payment.

In this particular example, once your current subscription runs its course and you have canceled it before it is set to renew, then your status will revert back to a non-paid member. When that happens, that's when you should go through the subscription process again so that your paypal account will reflect payment to the CORRECT email account (again, one ending with @verticalscope.com). From there on, the renewal should be automated and without having to do this again.

Again, we apologize for all the hassle. Let Admin (Yung) know if you have any questions and if something is working for you the way it should. We will make sure to fix it.

Ending your paid membership

If anyone wishes to cancel a paid membership from renewing these instructions were from Admin (Yung).

Here are the steps to cancel your subscriptions to the site:

1. Log into your Paypal account.
2. Click on your history tab.
3. Find the subscription in your history and click on it.
4. You will be given the option to cancel the subscription or renew it. Select cancel.
You may also find it by doing an advanced search using your subscription number.

If you have any questions on paid memberships please contact him (Admin) as this is the only issue I do not handle here.

Thanks
