Dog to dog, but I'd still wash your hands if you're poking around in his mouth.

My 1 1/2 yr old Golden recently came home from Doggy Daycare with a small califlower looking wart on her front canine area of her mouth. Took er to the vets and he confirmed that ,indeed it was papilloma virus. He said that it would go away with time. Has anyone here had the "wonderful" experience before ?? How long did it take before the virus went away and what treatments if any,did you use. I read something about good results with L-Lysine.Any comments or suggestions would be more than welcomed.

It's also called puppy warts because it's more common in puppies. My dog got one at doggy daycare as a puppy (around 4 months old) and it went away on it's own. The vet checked it out and did not prescribe anything.

My 12wo Bess has it, too. She has it on her eyelids...just little bumps that come and go. The vet says that it usually stays in their system for about 6 months and is harmless, no meds necessary. :)
