Hi!

Annie ate grease two nights ago, and seemed fine afterwards (grease from meat). Today she threw up and had diarrhea. Could it be delayed pancreatitis? I have to leave in 10 min for my daughter's field trip and I don't know what to do!

I would get her into the vet just to be on the safe side. Several members here have dealt with the pancreatitis with their dogs and it can be very bad. I am not trying to scare you. Hopefully it is just a side effect of the grease but since it has been a couple of days it might be something else.

I could be nothing but an upset stomach but pancreatitis can be brought on by that. You're vet should be able to perform a blood test looking for elevated Lipase and Amylase, which are the two main markers (I believe).

Does Annie seem in pain at all? Typically there is abdominal pain associated with Pancreatitis. You could poke around that area and see her reaction.

Thank you for your replies! I called the vet and they told me to call them back if her vomiting/diarrhea worsened or if her gums turned white (?not sure why). I actually just got home and she seems better- still quiet but is playing with her toy. They told me to put her on a bland diet of boiled rice and chicken or beef. I hope she is ok!!!
