Our Security System had a False Alarm this morning...

Jay and I woke up this morning at 4:23 (from this:  to this: ) to Molson barking like crazy next to our bed. I don't know if he barked in his sleep, waking himself up thinking it was someone else that barked, or if he actually heard something.

I went back to sleep but Jay decided he needed to go check out the rest of the house to make sure it was all ok. Molson was more than eager to do the same, so my boys went around the house :--detektive: peeking their heads around corners,:hide: :peepwall: kicking doors open :samurail:and checking behind shower curtains :curtain: looking for strange people. Turns out I had left a window open in the bathroom downstairs and it may have created a vacuum in the house and shut one of the doors on the main floor.

Thank God we have them to protect us :)
I like Molson's picture...he looks good in a hat. Glad the boggyman didn't get in your house.
good story. Mine do the "you go check" I'll be right behind you.
LOL. Well, even though this one turned out to be a false alarm, it's nice to know that he'll alert you when he hears something out of the ordinary.
I had one of those false alarms recently. Scared the daylights out of me. There's such a difference between the "I need to go out" bark and the "something's wrong" bark. In this case, it turned out to be two skunks fighting in front of the house. The window was open and Rookie could hear them. I'm glad he wasn't in my room though. At least the barking was muffled a bit in my case. Barking right next to the bed like that would sure get your heart pumping.

My boss caught me while I was making the pic - oops! lol

Molson does look good in hats, eh? He has a baseball hat that he plays with as a toy, but I always put it on his head and he looks so cute in it.
Our alarm is broken. We found this out the other eveing when we were dogsitting my mom's Yorkie and "mom" said she would stop by and pick her up later. We said "sure, we'll be here". Well, we were all snuggled up on the couch( me,DH,DS and said Yorkie) and Lucy on the floor right below us. It seems we all dozed off and I awoke to my mom standing at my feet wiggling my toes to get me awake. Guess what, nobody else woke up includind the dogs!! Some watchdogs!!
Well if you think about it, it actually wasn't a false alarm. The door did close so it alerted him that something was going on in the house that wasn't normal. :)
Obviously he thought your heart rate had gotten too low and needed a jump start!

Good point... but I meant it was nothing to be woken up at 4:23 about! :)

It was QUITE the bark, and to wake me from the great, deep sleep that I was having nearly gave me a heart attack!
We leave our windows open a lot, and our canine alarms always go off when they slam. We've got something propping open all the doors now :) The box full of stuff that I haven't unpacked holding the craft room door open, the vacuum holds the laundry room door open, the dog bed holds my bedroom door open...Maybe I should ask for some door stops fro Christmas?
Mine seems to have false alarms when my husband is working night shift and I am home by myself. It always scares me to death.

LMAO!!! Oh man, you're lucky you have so many brave men in your house! Maxie and I are usually the ones who check stuff out. Gary's always "too tired" to check, and Mojo "pretends" he's sleeping.

One of these days something really IS going to happen, and they will be sorry! Oh yessir!
