Our very delightful Golden, Annie, is a big "helper". She loves to be as close as possible to us at all times (she is a Golden, after all). I was putting together 2 new office chairs today and sitting on the floor for a while. Of course, Annie has to lay down with her head on my lap (that makes it really easy to put screws in). You can't see it in the pictures, but there is a green tennis ball that got "dropped" in my lap as a little hint. We did go play outside after I had the first chair put together.

As I was working on the chair, I realized that this scene has played out many times at our house--I sit on the floor to accomplish something--and a dear doggie sits on me or near me. I found a few other pictures from other projects to prove that I have a wonderful helper. Annie is so special!

What is it about goldens? When I am working at the farmhouse on the weekends (the only time I get), Summer will come up and give me "that look", or will be sprawled out where I can't miss her, catch my eye and give that tail wag & look. Buddy, he's not so subtle. He just comes and blocks me in so when I try and move, I can't miss him! Hugs and belly rubs have to be given before moving on!

Thanks for the nice comments, Golden lovers!. She is so precious. I found one more picture (there are many). Annie is wedged in while our patient daughter in law is making Christmas cookies. Can you get any closer than this? We are pretty sure she is just waiting for the dough to fall into her mouth.

She is a doll!

Jasper meets me at the door every day and tries to take the mail right out of my hands. He wants to carry it for me. He is such a dork.

Danny goes everywhere in the house with me. I don't think it's because he is trying to help, I think he is afraid I will have fun without him. LOL

Annie is in Finn's exact spot in the Christmas cookie preparation photo! Too cute, and so very inconvenient:) She looks like a very willing helper in all of the pictures. Too bad she doesn't have opposable thumbs!

Can I just say how impressed I am at the cleanliness of the bottom of your Dyson!?!

I will not be posting pics of my Dyson ;-)
I don't know how to get anything done without my helper. Heaven forbid I ever get to go to the bathroom alone again! Thanks for the nice comments and the fun stories as well. They keep us all laughing.

As for the Dyson--I must confess that after burning up several motors over the years of other vacuums due to hair on the beater brush, I clean our 2 Dysons weekly. I have waist length hair and our daughter has long hair too. Add that to two dogs and there is a lot of hair around here. My secret to keeping the brush clean is to cut off the hair on the bottom brush with a seam ripper. It is so much easier than scissors and hardly takes any time if done often:) And I ALWAYS have help when I do this!

Seam ripper! I never thought of that!
