Oscar sleeps in his crate in our bedroom, and usually wakes us up by 8am. But yesterday morning we were still feeling sleepy, so when he started whining for us to wake up, we decided to bring up him up onto the bed with us to cuddle for just a little bit. (We don't usually allow him onto the bed, plus it is very high so he can't get up there himself.)

... WELL, Oscar was in LOVE! He usually runs around like crazy in the morning, but up on the bed he snuggled right in, and that lazy guy would probably have slept there all morning if we let him! He did NOT want to leave. It was SO cute!! Here are some pictures I took of his cuteness.

We don't plan on letting him sleep on the bed in the future... but man did he love it... though he totally hogged the middle! ;)

(Okay, I just had to add in the last one as well, though it was obviously not on our bed... We were eating our pizza while watching TV, so Oscar wedged himself in between our coffee table and couch to hunt for crumbs. I don't think he got any, but he is an eternal optimist... hehe)

Enjoy! :)

I was gonna say!! Good luck convincing him that the bed isn't exactly where he should be every night!! ;)

I share my bed every night with two furballs and wouldn't have it any other way... even though sometimes they are major bed hogs.. :)

Oh you are DONE - so, so DONE! That picture of him fast asleep is sooo adorable!

I don't know how old he is but Griff started being able to jump up on the bad around 4 months I think. hehe!
Just make sure he knows that when you say Off - you mean Off. ;)

LOL!!!!!!! Yeaahhh okay I think you guys are probably SOOO right... this might be famous last words!!! ;) hehehe

As of right now Oscar can barely peek his head up over the edge of the bed (it is VERY high), so we have a long time before he can jump up there himself... Right now I wouldn't have him be up there without our supervision (and definitely not actually "sleep" there during the night) because it is too high for him to jump down safely... but once he can do that I dunno if I will be able to resist inviting him up -- cuz as you can see he is JUST SO CUTE ;)

Also, my boyfriend says NOOO WAY is Oscar ever sleeping with us... haha yeah well we'll see about that... ;) (as I am typing he is still saying "seriously! no way!") haha...

As the other people have said...... you've gone and done did it now!:)

Oscar is a little sweetheart, and if in the future he does convince you that it would be a lot more cozy on the bed with you guys, I would find some sort of stool or bench or something stable and sturdy like....... anything that will cut the distance from the floor to the top of the bed in half. It will be a lot easier on young puppy bodies and lessen the stress of jumping onto and down from the bed to his growing joints and bones. Of course, make sure whatever you use has some sort of material covering or carpeting so they do not slip and slide while using it.

Ohhh he is so cute. Humm I remember my husband saying no way can the dogs sleep on the bed. Wellllll, we have a king sized bed now so both dogs can sleep with us. ha ha The king sized bed was my husband's idea.

Thanks! :) Yes that does sound like a good idea... though we are a little tight for space right now, as between our large bed and large dog crate, there is not a lot of walking room in our bedroom! Hopefully we can rig up something though-- especially since someone posted on another thread that dogs are reluctant to jump up/down when they don't have a lot of room for a running start or to maneuver. (Also I guess the crate doesn't always have to stay in the bedroom, we just like having him close by!)

HA!!!! He'll have you under his spell in NO time! That bed will be his!! Seriously though....Oscar has the cutest face!!
THANKS :) our puppy class trainer calls him "oscar eyebrows" to remind her of the difference between him and the other golden puppy in the class, who is super fluffy. i guess because Oscar is not so fluffy, all his little facial expressions are really clear! :D
